  • Yes and no. The groups are not stored as such, rather each property has a path (the nested group names) and the groups shown reflect the total of all the paths. To change the group name shown you would need to edit the paths of all the properties in the gorup - fortunately if you put the Parameters pane in Edit mode, via the right-click menu, you can then multi-select properties and the right-click menu has an option to set the path for all of them.

  • Thank you Richard.  I'll give that a try.

  • This is all I'm seeing when right clicking.  What am I doing wrong?  Clicking sort property groups only opens the morph menu.

I think Richard means clicking all the individual parameters on the right.
  • Oh fhank you.

  • I got it worked out!

  • Yes, you are working on the proeprties not the group label so you need to select the properties you wish to change (I would uncheck the option to Show Sub Items at bottom left, then you will see only the items in the current group; click on the first, shift-click on the last) and right-click on any of them.

And how do I manage to have all those changes (to paths for example...) available when starting DAZ again? 'Cause after changing the paths and moving morphs (etc) from one group to an other and closing DAZ they were again in the previous group when I opened DAZ again...

No easier way to do such changes by editing some files in a texteditor maybe?

Well, SOMETIMES I forcibly do so by renaming/moving the morphs and the folders containing those morphs (with DS closed) BUT only do so when I am sure that those morphs AREN'T related to/used by other morphs/characters. Disclaimer: you can try but do it at your own risk, backing up your data beforehand is a must.

  • Save a new Character preset and use that to load the figure, or do the work on the DevLoad version of the figure and use File>Save As>Suport Assets>Save Modified Assets (but note that any product update will then reset the paths).

Seems I asked the wrong question... cheeky

My problem is, that there's a shipload of entries at Parameters/(Figure)/Actor/(subcategories) which should (!) for my taste (!!) go into other subcategories or even categories... like some free figures put by the PA in a seperate undergroup Parameters/(Figure)/Actor/Morphs/(name of the PA's figure).

I would love to move that "figure" into the ../Actor/People/Real World subcategory and find it again after closing and reloading DAZ.

In the .dsf for that figure is a line "group" : "/(PA Name)/Characters/(Figure Name)" which seems to define how that figure appears on the Parameters tab. So would just changing this in the .dsf to the proper path for the Actor/People/etc subcategory work permantly (or at least until the .dsf is updated or installed again in it's original form)?

It should do, but hand-editing files is usually more error prone than using the built-in features.
