Is there a card that can do TWO renders at once?

[Is there a card that can do TWO renders at once?] Or is it a core thing?

In the past I have accidentally started or run two renders at once. Sometimes it works, sometimes it crashes,

I remember reading somewhere that Daz uses the same SAME memory pool for every render so it *should* be technically impossible.

BUT! There's a script to run two Daz sessions at once...and they run in separate threads.

So if they are running into two threads, can they render across resources- long as nothing maxes out?

Wondering at the potential of this card....

  • I have rendered with Carrara Octane AND DAZ iray simultaneously on my 980ti cheeky

so I guess it comes down to can you run two versions of your program at once and will it fit.

AFAIK D|S you cannot (and since I only have one Octane license I can only have a single instance of that too)

not sure with your script though

...hmmm that would be a good case to seve up the zlotys for the A6000 or maybe dual NVLInked 3090s

I've done multiple Iray renders simultaneously....before I had an Nvidia card.

But just -  NOT in Daz Studio. I sorta gather....

What's strange is that I've NEVER been able to get an Ray-tracing render to work in anything but Daz.sad

No, in DS. I used to keep two or even three instances of DS open, working on different scenes, and sometimes they'd all be rendering. I don't use Iray in C4D, which is the only other 3D program I use to render. I haven't bothered to check whether Cycles 4D uses my GPU.

...OK, maybe a pair of A5000s, their TDP is only 230w.
