Hi -

In this scene I have two people showing some love to one another.
I want both characters to wear a DForce gown. When I process them both, the clothes explode. If I only choose one character and choose to simulate only the one selected, the clothes cut through the other character because it ignores it since it is not selected.

Please help - thank you

You will need to use a Play range simulation, with the figures starting out separated and moving into their final position without intersecting each other (or the floor). Even so, you can do one sim at a time but use the Freeze Simulation command in the Parameters pane to lock the one you don't want to chnage, rather than making it invisible or not targeting it at all.

Ok... dForce is a pain in the ass. Much of the newer clothes and hair are dForce, and I've found for either to look right, they have to be simulated for every pose.  Sometimes if two poses are similar it sort of looks right and can be adjusted with fit control, but many times not.  I make scenes with lots of characters for comics.  I have to plan which characters are in dForce clothing very carefully.  What I do with a scene is set all of the poses, and save the dForce character as a subset.  I then load it in a Beta Daz version, usually the latest one, and run the simulation there.  If it finishes, I save it as a subset and load it into the scene I'm working after deleting the pre-simulated figure. Explosions can usually be managed by adjusting the bending stiffness down in the surface tab, or stop the simulation just before the explosion.  It's usually close enough at that point.

But I'm not particularly a fan of Dforce.

Here is the scene I have been practicing with.
It has been a real struggle. Right now the one on top is and getting things right have been hard. 

Once I figure this out - I will then try something where both characters are wearing DForce items.
