I have the base model Macbook Air with 256 GB disk space. This is my "studio" so I'm wondering about how much space Studio will use on the Mac's ssd. And also: Is there a way to store content on a sd-card? I asking becaus I do not want to install Studio on my music macine if it will take up too much storage space, since Logic Pro X needs a fair amount.

It's the assets (as opposed to the program) that take up a lot of storage space. My content library is several TB, for example. Some people have smaller libraries, but 256GB would be a problem, IMHO.

You don't want to get your internal drive too full, as it's used for paging.
I got an external drive, then did an "ln -s" from the normal install location on the internal SSD so that the installer program would think the directory was still in the default location. It's easier than trying to fix the install locations.
Beware, your external drive must be formatted so that the file names are case insensitive (FreD.txt is the same as fred.txt).
