Daz character upgrades to Starter and Pro Bundles

When I look at Daz character Starter and Pro Bundles (e.g. Celani 8, Victoria 8), I often own one or two items already (maybe a clothing item or hair item or the base character). However, the total price of the bundle doesn't take account of that or deduct items you already own. That means there is no viable upgrade path - you just have to buy the things again in a new bundle. I assume Daz is losing out a bit there, since people like me then don't upgrade - if there was a way to do so without rebuying items, we would.
Have I understood that correctly, or have I missed something obvious? Some other upgrade route?
(This could apply to any Daz bundle of items, not just character bundles.)
I realise it is maybe too complex to incorporate knocking off the cost of items you own when there may be other inter-related discounts at play. Maybe an easier way to do it would be the occasional special sale which is ONLY about upgrading to a bundle and incorporating discounts for each item you own. I can imagine quite a few of us would leap at that kind of sale. And if it is a special sale it might be worth them calculating discounts as a one-off. Do those ever occur?
Thanks!

Such sales have occurred in the past; I don't know why they're not a permanent feature.
Only one unowned item in the bundle, in order to buy the bundle, have to pay $395 for an item that can be bought separately for $5
Why not file a ticket and ask if DAZ could sell it to you for a discounted price?
Well, it isn't a particular thing I am after. There are hundreds of bundles and new ones being added all the time. I just often have an item or two.
(Plus I often find it can take months for them to respond to some issues.)
find a bundle you want. buy the items as they go on sale. individually ... sooner or later, viola, bundle.
Some other sites have a different policy. If a bundle price is, say, 70% of the total price of the items, if you purchase an item, then the bundle, you will only be charged for 70% of the price of the unowned items. This is still less interesting than a direct purchase of the bundle (as the first purchased item does not have the "bundle discount") but it seems more coherent.
I think Steam etc take that approach with game bundles. It seems like a workable approach that's also fair.
While in theory i can see the idea, but why not just purchase the odd items you don't have to complete the bundle? It's not like buying the bundle unlocks some special prize over just purchasing all the items in it seperately. things are always on sale, surely it would be cheaper to just get the odd couple of items when on sale and it might even be cheaper than getting the bundle originally.
There are several bundles that offer freebies you can't get if you buy the items individually.
