Transfering zip files, question

in The Commons
I have a number of compressed zip files on drive C, and they are starting to take up a lot of room. I want to move them, still unzipped, to an external HDD, and organize them.
Can I do that simply by copy/paste?
And, will the file be damaged if I move it as a compressed zip file to another HDD and continue to store it as a zip file?
Thanks.

Yes.

No,not if the drive is in good operating condition.
I do file operations such as this routinely to back up my content. You shouldn't have any problems so long as you let the copy/move operations finish without canceling or shutting down/rebooting the computer.
The last time I moved my entire library from USB drive to USB drive it took nearly 11 hours.I have over 3 TB of stuff from several stores and freebie sites.
Be patient :)
I also do this all the time without problems. I like to break my cut/paste down a bit because I like to do mine in no more than 1 hour chunks. Copy/paste is safer if you have one of a kind stuff that can't be downloaded again in event of a power outage during transfer. You'll just have to take the extra step of deleting off the drive you moved them from with copy/paste vs cut/paste.
Thank you, everyone.
That is a great help. I will be able to organize better now, and free-up space where needed.
