backing up my current installed version of DS

Other than the DAZ 3D folder in my programs, what other files, if any do I need to back up to restore my working version of 4.12 if 4.15 doesn't work out for me? I had the program install backed up on a zip drive, but it got corrupted so my only other option is to save what is already installed. I use DIM for content if that matters

  • If you install through DIM/Daz Central you want the manifests folder - those .dsx files record where the content was installed.

Where would I find this folder Richard, not seeing it in the DAZ 3D folder

  • Its location is set in DIM itself, in Advanced Settings in the Downloads tab as I recall.

Zip drive??..that brings back memories...all bad!
  • I too had used a Zip Drive many years ago... the "big floppy disk" for its time.  Other than backing-up the DIM Manifest Files (Users --> Public --> Public Documents), here's a few more things to consider:

If you have any custom categories, tags, etc. then you will also want to back them up... go to: Content DB Maintenance --> Export User Data

If you currently save your Daz files to an external drive (or somewhere other than the C: Drive, then you should also make note of your file location from: Daz Preferences --> Content Tab --> Content Directory Manager --> Content Sets so you can add that location back into your new Daz Studio install.

    Good Luck!
