Newbie question - shapes

I've created a character and used the parameters to get the shape like I like.

However, when I change the pose, I lose the shape changes.

How can I apply these changes to a new pose, or save the character in such a way that changing the poses don't screw up the shape.

I'm not sure I understand. Can you post some screenshots to demonstrate the problem, please?
The Parameters tab controlls things like movement of the bones. If you change something there, and then apply a pose, the values of the pose replace those that you entered.
If you changed the shape in the Shape tab, like, increasing the size of the nose, then this should still show when you apply a pose.
