    I like the two tones.
Ya know, I'm not sure if I used the Pyrit for Genesis 2 or the regular Pyrit hair for Gen 4. I am rendering and can't go check in studio, but the hair was in Hair under People>Genesis>Hair if I recall. I'll have to go back and see if I can tell which one I used! It didn't Autofit/give me any popups so ?

Do the two versions look different when applied? Here's the two promos side by side when I searched.

May I contribute an Iray render of Pyrit hair?

This is G2M with some GenX2 morphs and Neo for David 5 skin. The Pyrit Hair has the front hidden and is autofit to the morphed G2M character. The only lighting is provided by the Pixar Campus HDRI from Dylan Sisson.

Iray can be fast. This render took 16 minutes and is 2000 by 1600. Give it a try.

You can contribute whenever you like :)
It looks good! I'm going to have to learn about HDRI's, I confess I am WAY behind everyone else in that respect.

I'm not sure. Don't look different for me. I didn't want to pay 13 dollars for a new version when the one for V4 autofits so nicely though. Plus it is only 2 dollars right now.

In case you didn't catch this thread (it's about a specific product) it widened in topic and has good information on Geometry Visibility and how to actually delete polygons. Interesting thought about kit bashing, and getting things out of scenes that are grouped and can't be removed otherwise. (like ivy on a building.) Anyone done this? (Of course I am in DUH land, didn't know about it.)

Get ready for the Macro Skin on Nicolette! Rendered the original Nicolette and doing the tan Macro on her now. It will be at least an hour, but you'll want to see this!

    LY Nicolette (Lyoness)
Macro Skin for Genesis and Genesis 2 Female(s) (Parris)

    http://www.daz3d.com/ly-nicolette
    http://www.daz3d.com/macro-skin-for-genesis-and-genesis-2-female-s

First, if anyone bought Nicolette, would you test her and see if you get that strange line in her ear? I loaded her two different times and got it both times.

Now for Macro Skin. I don't know if you're supposed to load it directly onto a character that already has the materials applied? That's what I did anyway. I loaded Nicolette then applied the Macro.

    According to Parris:
"Surprisingly; these skin shaders actually render faster than DAZ Studio default skin shaders - typically 40% faster in common lighting situations and up to ten times as fast before lights are added."

TRUE! Compare the render times of Nicolette- the first is with Nicolette, then the second is then applying with one click, the Macro SSS Tan shader. I will go ahead and point out that at 25 minutes for the regular Nicolette, it was 50% rendered, but with Macro- it was 70%.

Percent of render completed, where "Time" is minutes.
    Time Nicolette Macro Nicolette
    15 36% 43%

    29 94%

You really will want to click to enlarge, click again, then open that popup all the way so you can slide the bar and compare these side by side. Even the neck has detail you'll want to compare.

Fiora Hair for Genesis 2 Females and Victoria 4 (Daz Originals / SWAM)
Delight Outfit for Genesis 2 Female(s) (-Esha-)

Still using the Macro Nicolette, here's the Delight Outfit with Fiora Hair. I wanted to test the lip colors (vibrant) with approximately the same color outfit. I do wish Macro offered more mauve/less colorful options for the lips, but you can do a neutral/natural and darken it in Surfaces.

Original is on the left, the Macro is on the right. If you zoom, you'll see the one on the right has MUCH more detail- the pores, the lines, etc. Also note the definition in the lips.

Hey, thank you Novica for the demonstration. I'm pleased to see your results are similar to the many tests that I have done. I do wonder though about why your renders for both are taking so long. Is your Shading Rate in render setting lower than default? For an extreme close up like the one you presented, you may find that 1.0 (the default) will take way less time without really sacrificing render quality/detail. Closer scenes don't need low shading rates as much as others.

Also, I want to point out that with the Macro Nicolette variation, it's basically Nocolette's character morph combined with MacroSkin's shaders and textures.

    Hi Parris :)
Since I showcase products, I always use top notch settings so I'm sure that the most detail possible is shown. I feel I owe it to the vendors to "err on the side of caution." So the shading rate is .20 on all the renders and the other settings are also high quality. I usually don't change it, out of habit.

I really like your product! (Can you tell?) Hope you get a great response. I love the detail on the neck, lips, under the eyes, every pore. I put a rim light so folks could really see on the top side of the head. Wonderful! Thanks for clarifying about the skin.

So basically, I would load up the character without applying the skin material, as yours overrides it so it isn't necessary.

Yes, unless you want to try the control-click-ignore option but I don't see why you would want to in normal circumstances, it would take a fair bit of work to adjust the shader to a different set of maps which may not be plugged into the exact same channels for control-click to translate everything the same, and bump and spec maps are almost never the same level of grey or contrast between characters, even by the same PA usually.

Thanks for showing this. I think the skin looks better with this product applied. It is more vibrant. I admit I do own a number of supplemental skin packs and have thus far not been overwhelmed. I am curious how it looks in low lighting. Anyway, thanks for showing that.

    Yes- Congratulations Jindi!

I posted this image over in the Find Noodle thread here in the Art Forum, here's the breakdown of the products. (Of course, Noodle is in it.)

LYFW Sherri HD for Victoria 6 (Lyoness / Fred Winkler Art)
    Honey Hair for Genesis 2 Female(s) (3DCelebrity)
    Young Shirt For Genesis 2 Female(s) (Cute3D)
City Chic For Genesis 2 Female(s) (jeans only) (WildDesigns)

Gentlemen's Game Room (DAZ Originals / ForbiddenWhispers / FWDesign)
    The Library (Jack Tomalin)

The Gentlemen's Game Room wall, floor and rug were used, the chair is from The Library.

The Young Shirt is so much fun, be sure and take a peek at all the textures you can get with it, and with the additional product.

I don't think the "Interested In" hides things you already own. If they show related products that you own, Shox-Design should let the Daz team know the textures are not linked on the "You Might Also Be Interested In..." products of the shirt. It only has the Sexy Girl Dress.

Don't forget to use the FB-APR-3 code to get $3 off $15. I don't know what the restrictions are or when it expires. I used it on all that Genesis stuff that was already 80% and picked up stuff to kitbash with for only 90 cents. (I won't use the sexy outfit but might use pieces of it, like the boots, leggings, one has a crown and arm braces, etc)

Love the Reach For The Stars promotion. Bought a few robots that I didn't have. I don't think I've ever seen Vertical Living rendered. I don't have a need for it, but has anyone got a render that they've done that shows it clearly?

I may have to play with some robots. :)

I bought vertical living during MM - boy was that sale a mad sale for half a day. I did so many small orders that my bank got suspicious and I had to use the credit card! Anyhow this is a bad render - my dell box only has 4gb of ram and likes to crash every time I try to render. Didn't want to push things. This has one distant light. ETA: The red pipe and step are below ground.

Ooooh, check out the last thumbnail. Neat props! Love the jet packs- note the tiny leg jets. You also get a plasma sword and mini gun. It's 8.20 with 4 things in the cart. The side view is unique- the head reminds me of Alien. I think I'm picking up Tyco Station and Rabbit Hole ($2.79 and $4) and maybe the Vertical Living stuff.

This has a funny thumbnail too. For poses, the vendor cleverly named it "Ta-dah!"
The main promo says: This "Buttles Better!" Love when the vendors have a sense of humor.
