What The Heck Are “My Bookmarks”?

What the heck are they and how did I end up with four hundred and forty of them?
I know what "Bookmarks" are (physically, virtually and psychologically), but as far as I'm aware I never made any using the forum software, tools or functions... yet somehow I ended up with 440 of them...
Usually I just email myself a link to a thread and them add them to a document where I categorize them accordingly... mostly because because the forum software is really wonky off and on... That, and it more effective for me to find stuff that way.
As far as I can tell all the "bookmarked" threads are ones I've commented in, or have created... yet I do not ever recall deliberately using anything on the forum to bookmark these threads.
Spooky.
I hope it's not my evil doppelgänger... I thought he fell into a volcano years ago..
Thanks in advance for any useful or amusing answers.
Comments
I've been using them for 1-2 years already, but i think it had different name before.
Basically, i add to them any interesting thread that i want to revisit later.
Press the star symbol to add this thread.
edit:
On a second thought, i'm not sure if some of them are disappeared now or my mind playing tricks.
It looks like every thread I started was bookmarked by default for me, I don't think I specifically tried to bookmark them. Although they are ones I would have wanted to bookmark in case anyone replied later on, so not 100% sure. Otherwise it's the star at the top of the thread.
I think it automatically bookmarked every thread I started, but the rest appears to be random... but it's good to know that it's the star icon that activates the bookmarks... I have a feeling this was some random software hiccup.
Also on a side note... I'm not 100% certain, but I think a couple of threads I made are missing from "My Discussions"... it's possible, but I'm pretty sure... at least two are not showing up... not in forum search or Google.
Oh well.
Thanks everyone.
