Installing manually

I usually install products from DAZ using DIM but a couple of products have not installed properly. I'm guessing corrupted files being downloaded from DAZ as the file sizes showing in DIM are considerably smaller than in the Product Library. I have downloaded the files from DAZ which are not zip but .exe files. If they were zip files I'd just install in my library as I would with any product that I didn't use DIM to install. But I'm not sure what to do with these .exe files? Can anyone help?

If you double-click on the .exe file it will should start up the installer.

It does but my question is do I just install in the Library as I would a zip file? The product is the GenX if that makes a difference?

Is it asking for an install location? I'm not certain, but I don't think GenX comes with presets, so it shouldn't need you to specify an install location.

According to my Product Library, the installer for GenX and GenX2 bought from DAZ are in the form of a zip file and can be installed manually or with DIM.

I downloaded the files from the Product Library and they are both .exe files. I guess I'll have to submit a support ticket as there is obviously something not right. Guess I won't be using GenX in the near future. :(

Run the EXE installer, and on the page where it asks you for installation information, select 'Use Default Settings (Recommended)'. The installer should do the rest. Do not have DAZ Studio running when you install.

Make sure that you install the correct bit depth (32 or 64) for your system.

Thanks. Tried that but nowhere to be found in the program after installing the app. I believe there is supposed to be a Pane added for GenX but I can't locate anything in the program anywhere, not in the Content Library either. I've just downloaded the PDF for it and maybe that will give a clue how to install it. It installed in the Program Files and I suspect it has to go in the Library. I've uninstalled for now and I suspect I'll end up having to wait a week or so for an answer from support to get it working. :(

Edited: Oops Stupid Me! Needed the Serial # to be activated. Now I can play! Thanks all!

I don't have GenX 2, but it's likely that you need to enter a serial number in Help>About Installed plug-ins and restart DS before you can use it.
