Spot Render Rendering Wrong Spot?

I run into this issue with fair regularity. I'll draw a square over a specific space to spot render, then in the new window where the render outputs I get something else entirely, a different spot in the image, and sometimes a rectangle with different dimensions than the one I drew. Any ideas?

If your computer's screen resolution is set very different from what the computer thinks it should be, that can affect displays in D/S and any other app in use.

Fresh batteries for the mouse? Again, a dying mouse can do strange things.

Toggle on the Show Aspect frame. Have D/S open fully. Click around in the viewport to be sure it is displaying correctly. Then select a square of it to render.
If the error repeats - take a screengrab of the entire screen - in your image editor draw a square where it is you had asked for there to be a spot render.

Attach the image to your post.
And quite likely somebody may then ask about some other settings because no, it normally does the spot render where one tells it to.

This may also be caused by a local camera setting that has a different aspect ratio than your main render setting!

I attached a scene where you can observe the effect.

It works fine when starting the spot render tool in Perspective View and fails when starting it when the Camera is selected!
