I had Daz3d 4.7, and I just bought mimic live. I installed and then open Daz, the problem is Mimic Live doesn't show up in Daz at all. Do I lose money for Mimic Live ????

Mimic Live is a plugin for DAZ Studio, and it comes with a serial number to activate it.
Open DAZ Studio, go to Help > About Installed Plugins, and enter the Serial Number for the product in there.
You can find the Serial number in 'Serial Numbers' from your My Account area.
Hi Jimmy and other DAZ gurus,
I have the same problem as the other member. I just bought, downloaded and installed Mimic Live.
I tried your method of going to Help > About Installed Plugins, but Mimic Live is not listed there.
Help! I am working on a demo for a movie director and supposed to send a demo tonight.
Anyone know how I can make my $50 Mimic Live work?
Thanks,
Glenn
Hi Anhkieuphong, did you get Mimic working?
If so how?!
I really need this to work tonight. Ack. Helppppp! :P
If Mimic Live is not listed in Help > About Installed Plugins, then it is not installed. Even if it was there, but the wrong version, it would still show up with a 'Red' status plug beside it. The current version of Mimic Live that I have installed with DS4.7, is Version : 1.3.3.52.
Make sure that you have the correct bit depth for your version of DAZ Studio, Mimic comes in both 32 bit and 64 bit versions. If using the 64 bit version of DS, Mimic Live gets installed into C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\plugins
Is that where you installed it to? Did you download the 32 bit or 64 bit version?
I used Install Manager first. Then uninstalled and did it manually next. I'm doing a complete uninstall and reinstall of everything right now hoping that will fix it. I'm getting 64-bit everything when I can. I'll check that after the reinstall. Thanks!
Okay, I tried everything and nothings is working.
When I try to install Mimic manually, it gives this error message:
The installation path for DAZ Studio could not be found. "Mimi Live DS4 (64bit)" cannot be installed. Setup will now quit.
My Studio 4.7 is installed right where it's supposed to be in the default dir: c:\Program Files\DAZ 3d\DAZStudio4\
I wonder if this is a bug in Studio 4.7 or perhaps because I'm using Win 8.1 Pro?
I wish I could get a copy of the darn dlls and other files and just copy them to the right directories. The Install Manager already has a list of the files and where they should be installed.
Anyone have suggestions...?
I have no idea what is going wrong with your install. I installed mine with DIM and it all went smoothly.
When you download anything with DIM, it puts a ZIP file in C:\Users\Public\Documents\DAZ 3D\InstallManager\Downloads and a search for 'mimic' should find it there. Open the ZIP file and install the files your self. I am posting below the files that my DIM installed, with the correct paths.
Jimmy ty! I did a search on my ssd last nite but didn't find the mimic zip then.
Found it today, installed manually from the zip file and Studio sees the plugin now, thanks!
Now if I could figure out how to:
1) Get mimic to work with my Gen 2 female character... The mouth doesn't open.... Sigh. I zeroed out all poses and she still can't get her mouth open. I tried V4 and the mouth moves, kind of. But not really.
2) Add a text transcript of the dialog to get more accurate lip synching. Did this capability disappear in Mimic Live?
Well, I figured out question #1:
Wendyvanity created and shared this Mimic configuration file:
http://www.sharecg.com/v/69954/view/11/Poser/Daz-Genesis-2-Basic-Female-DMC?interstitial_displayed=Yes
You can see it in action here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJ5olV-uP9Q
It works! It's not perfect, but will create a starting point for polishing the mouth, head and eye anims.
Fortunately, my mimic live works now. However, it doesn't work for genesis 2... Frustrated, because my favorite figures are genesis 2, and mimic Live doesn't support!!!!
I know what you mean. I feel the same way.
You could try that plugin at the link in my post above. It's working pretty well. I will need to do some cleanup, but it's a start.
DAZ since released one themselves that you should find in your library
under
My Library\General\Mimic Configs
Thanks I tried the Genesis config first but doesn't work. I finally uninstalled Mimi Live and asked for a refund credit. Just not working for me at all. I tried it on my New Win 8.1 desktop with Studio 4.7. And tried it on my Win 7 gaming laptop with Studio 4.6. The mouth kinda moves in 4.6, but doesn't even open in 4.7. I'm using a high quality Audio-Technica mic at 48k. The sound quality is excellent. Searched all the forums. Tried numerous ways. Not sure what's wrong. But I spent way too much time on it. Thanks for the suggestions tho. : )
when using mimic, inorder to get the mouth to open during speech, you have to manually open the mouth slightly via parameters, then you will get more mouth response.
For future generations that might bump into this,
as touched on above:
Most figures may work somewhat with the mimic default configurations, but optimally each figure (Mil4-V4-M4, Genesis1, Genesis2, etc.) needs its own 'dmc' file (e.g. Genesis.dmc). The Genesis2 characters have a DMC file available in its own small zip file in your products library, and that can be put anywhere if you want to browse for it later, but should best be copied to your DS install directory - e.g
...\plugins\dzmimic\Configuration_Files\Genesis2.dmc
Note that you will need to copy this DMC file to both the 32 and 64 bit version folders if you use both.
If you don't use this figure-specific DMC file, it might work somewhat, leading you to believe it's not very useful... If the DMC file is there, and you correctly associate it with the figure in the mimic dialog, things generally work better and you might find it more useful.
good luck,

(edit to clarify)
How do you find the registration number to register Mimic Live?
I believe it should be in the serial numbers section in your account.
I have a problem now. I had reset my PC a few weeks ago, and had to reinstall DAZ Studio 4.12. Today, I tried to use MimicLive but while the audio did produce, it won't lip sync. I even added the serial number to such plugin before I reinstalled MimicLive, and in the /docs/Plugins/ directory, neither MimicLive.dsx nor MimicLiveInlineHelp.dsx exists. Where did I go wrong?
