I cannot install DAZ Studio or DAZ central.
I first got a message "A valid PostgreSQL could not be established." I tried to uninstall and re-install DAZ Studio. I tried to install DAZ Central and am getting a "The path specified in the "Package Archive" field on the "Downloads" page of the "Settings" dialog, is not currently available. "
I've been happily using DAZ Studio for years. I don't understand what is happening here.
I'm willing to completely remove and re-install. But HOW????

That message means you need to install the installer for PostgreSQL. It is a seperate installer and doesn't install with Daz Studio.
Thank you, Frank.
Where can I find PostgreSQL?
Do you use DIM to install your products? If so click on the "Ready to Download" then go to the filter search bar and type in PostgreSQL and it should bring it up for you. I haven't used Daz Central because I use DIM and its a lot more powerful. Central is just a chopped up version of DIM type app that makes it easier on new users. If you want to do it manually go to your account on Daz and go to your library and type the same thing in to the search bar.
I started to install PostgreSQL by googling it and installing the software found there. But I can see that's a little over my head.
I attached the dialog box that it's showing as the next step.
You don't want the stand-alone PostgreSQL installers, but you do want the ones included as part of the Daz products (which has its own installer).
Thanks for you help, Richard.
What DAZ products are going to install it. The problem is I can't get DAZ to install.
I click Download Studio and agree to install DAZ Central. There's a button saying it's going to install DAZ studio. But then I get a message: "The path specified in the "Package Archive" field, on the "Downloads" page of the "Settings" dialog is not currently available."
The question is where can I download DAZ Studio or the DAZ install manager without DAZ Central?? I can only find DAZ central. Does anyone have the link or know where it is for DAZ Studio?
Here is DIM. Once you have installed it and connect it to your Daz account everything you own should show up in there
DazCentrl should ask you to pick a base location. If you chose a removable drive is it still connected when you try to install?
Thanks Frank.
Using the link: https://www.daz3d.com/install-manager-info as provided. It downloads but the download says it "was blocked because it could harm your device."
And thanks Richard. I never got that far with the DAZCentral installation. So, I never got to pick any location. Though I understand that that's the sort of thing that be very confusing.
What security software are you using?
Windows primarily I think. I have System Mechanic installed on the machine too.
I'm attaching a picture of the message I get when trying to install Daz Studio.
Push "More Info" and there should be an option to install anyways.
I looked but it just says the file name and Unknown Publisher.
Have you tried going here: https://www.daz3d.com/downloader/customer/files#prod_13176 and just downloading the exe file directly and installing it without DIM or Central?
In that case you need to change the settings in Windows Security.
What setting do I change? And how do I get to it?
Which version of Windows are you using?
Windows 10.
And I've run Windows update.
Unfortunately the next time I'm on a W10 computer is at work monday morning, but maybe someone else can give the directions.
Hi,
Thank you very much for your help with this.
I have made some progress. I disabled Windows Smartscreen protection temporarily and was able to install DAZ Studio. I'm still getting an error for DAZ Install Manager. It says: The path specified in the "Package Archive" field on the "Downloads" page of the "Settings" dialog, is not currently available. Make sure the drive is connected to your computer and that your computer recognizes the drive, then try again."
Yes, the C drive is connected to the computer and the computer recognizes it. Where is the Package Archive field? So, I can see what that is saying.
sorry for my poor english, you just close Windows Defender first button and keep install Daz and it is ok
