After almost two years a new FaceShop is about to debut. Why the long delay? Because FaceShop 9 has been rewritten from the ground up. Not a single line of code remains from the previous version. So, why to do it?

1. FaceShop 9 is COMPLETELY compatible with Genesis 2 figures including Victoria 6, Michael 6. It is also updated to DAZ Studio 4.7+
2. Dazzling new auto-detect automatically locates features on a photo - no need to touch
3. Auto-rotate rotates tilted portraits upright - automatically
4. Auto-dot places strategic dots and (depending on the photo) mostly accurately.
5. Hugely improved texture mapping
6. Different tools to shape head (from auto to manual) to fit all skill levels. Multiple un-dos.
7. HairShop incorporated - any hair, any time!
8. Improved weight and age sliders. See your 2 year old become a teenager:-)
9. Much more...

Please preview FaceShop 9 on youtube at the following URLs:

So how do you become a beta user?

And what kind of system is required (Windows or Mac, memory, CPU etc.)?

    1. Please send request to info at abalonellc.com (replace "at" with the symbol).
    2. Windows. If you run DAZ Studio, you have the right machine:-)

Will this attempt to create a texture for the entire Genesis 2 body or just the face? The few examples I've seen of Faceshop seem to create a strange 'seam' around the face, which could make it look more like a mask than a face.

I'm very interested in this if it's user-friendly... I've got lots of fan-art I'd like to be able to make.

The blending is much-much improved. Also, now you can control how much is blended.

Ps: there will be "how-to" videos on youtube in a day or two:-)

Looking forward to seeing them! If this easily allows me to recreate a movie/TV show character in Genesis 2 from an actor's photographic likeness, I will genuinely be very happy.

Yes, with every figure that has a "headbone" - Gen 1, Victoria 4, Poser figures, etc.

E-mailed you a request yesterday, I hope to be part of the beta test team. I recently purchased FaceShop 8, I found it useful and worth the money but I have a lot of feedback & a wish list for improvements/features. If interested I could email or post my thoughts on it or should I just wait to see what was improved in version 9?

Super. I received 10 requests as of this morning. We don't want to go much higher than 10, so I will close beta sign-up by EOD
Thanks in advance, beta agreement going out tomorrow.

I am truly excited about the potential for this new version. It is EXACTLY what I am looking for.

I hope that it will be compatible with the new HD versions plug-in, for Victoria/Michael...?

Wishing you every success with this new release.

Must have missed this, what HD plug-in?
I know the PAs have something for to make HD characters but wasn't aware if that has been available for general use yet.

Oh okay, that's the add-on. I don't think we can make HD morphs until and/or if the plug-in is made available in the store. D/S always throws the base model over the bridge to Hexagon.
