How to render at 300 dpi for Print?

Hello Daz 3D Luminaries,

In my quest to get my comic project printed...I have a question.

How do you render at the equivalent of 300 dpi for print in Daz3D?

Is there a 300dpi setting in the render settings?  (I've looked and do see it in Custom Options.)

In the Render Settings there is a General Tab with Pixel Size Width and Height?

But any given camera aspect ratio or picture dimensions will need to have a high enough detail density for print?

Eg.  ISO Paper - Portrait preset.  W:643 / H:910.

An A4 image in Affinity Photo is 300 dpi but 2480 px and 3507 px.

In Daz3D, there is an Ultra HD render option but can you set up '300 dpi' settings?  Or do I just look at my target page size and pixel Height/Width in Affinity Photo for my Comic Page Print Format and then enter the Pixel Height and Width values in Daz3D's Render Settings: Pixel Size (Global) setings?

Any help you can give with this would be kindly received.

Regards,

Kyle.

  • If you don't know the pixel dim, ensions just entre the size times the PPI in the boxes: width 8.25 * 300, height 11,67 * 300, with the Constrain Proportions box unchecked. The renders do not have a PPI value set, most editors will assign 72 or 96 when opening them but you can of course chnage that without resampling to get the desired value.

  • Richard, that's a great piece of technical advice.  It was the 'missing piece' I needed to understand the bridge from 2D to 3D work.

It was the formula I needed.  I  can then make the renders for print or web use accordingly.

    Thank you for the help.

    Regards,

    Kyle.
