How to get M4 Clothing working on Genesis 8?

Hello Daz Luminaries,

I have bought some M4 Native American figures.  I tried using right click on the M4 clothing and using auto fit to make them work on Genesis but it's a ways off in fitting.

Are there any legacy scripts, features, secrets or tips to get them 'snug' fit on Genesis 8?  (Will it involve weight maps or just moving the clothing and scaling it into position and parenting it?  I'm guessing as I'm still quite new to Daz3D.)

Regards,

Kyle.

There is this, but not sure how snug the fit will be since the V4 version didn't give me good results.

  • Thank you for the response, FSMC Designs.  Some good stuff for M4 which I haven't seen equivalents for on Genesis 8.  So getting the M4 stuff fitting on Genesis 8 is something that has legacy value for me.

In short, I'll put that on my Daz3D shopping list!

The product page looks authorative.  I think I'll take the plunge.

    Kyle.

NP kyle, glad to help. Curious, what native american outfits are you interested in converting since I am always looking for those types of outfits as well

  • Hello FSMCDesigns,

It's 'Cheyenne.'  (Try to buy it on sale, though...)

Type that in the Daz3D store and it should come up.  Good set.  Pity it's not been updated for Genesis 8.

I've bought the RSSY clothing converter.  And it seems complicated.  I'll try reading through the documents a few more times to try and wrap my head around it.

I know I have to set up the output folder...and then you have to tell it where to look for the M4 stuff (wihout deleting your content?) and then the rest becomes a wall of text.  (I'm still new to Daz3D.). I'll try hunting for a YouTube tutorial but it seems the M4 stuff is considered 'old' now?

    Regards,

    Kyle.
