How to find an Item you already put in your scene

in The Commons
Sometimes i'll add a simple prop or whatever to my scene and later on find out I need to change its colour or something along these lines and will forget where exactly I found the thing in the content library on the left. All I will know is it was for G8f for instance and was a clothing item so i'll go to these lists and have to sometimes spend aaages scrolling down looking in folders to get it.
Is there a simpler way of being able to directly locate the item you used before in your scene from the content library without also having to leave the Daz screen? Thx all.

That sounds like a good feature request.
Being able to right click an item in the Scene pane and have the option to "Show in mapped folder" would be a very welcome change.
I make a screen capture of everything. So when I find something in the conent tab that I add to my scene, while the icon for the item is still highlighted, I make a screen capture showing where it's located in the list of content.
Daz Studio's asset browsers badly need an overhaul, to add favorites, bookmarks, viewing history, etc.
However, if you go to the scene tree, click the icon in the corner, and go to Edit -> Scene Identification, it will show you the file path to the asset.
This is basically why the smart contents pane exists; it allows Daz Studio to look up associated items for the currently selected item. So if you want easier access then my suggestion would be to add the item and it's material presets to the Daz database ("smart contents pane") by adding the required metadata (basically the file type and the category it should be in).
Once that's set up Daz will do exactly as suggested.
I usually look under surfaces to see where the textures live by browsing to one.
Not always helpful as PAs often use weirdly named vanity folders (initials abbreviations) for textures but offers some clues, if you can decipher the PA name at least you can browse their store page and unhide items you own.
I told you exactly how to do it: go into Scene Identification and look at the path to the asset.
