Alert & page jump is driving me nuts!

OK, I could dismiss the alerts by clicking on "X". But I rather want to have them reminding my on special offers. That said it would be great if the timing of the appearance could be improved. Currently it usually kicks in 1-2 seconds after the page is loaded. I cannot count how often I clicked wrong (especially in the forums) due to the alert moving my target a few pixels down. Just wanted to point that out as it is a quite annoying usability flaw.

    That happens to me all the time too. It's really annoying!

    Note to web designers:  Stop with the popup inserts that shuffle the displaying page.  Just stop it! angry  It's not helpful, it's not clever, it's annoying.  Just stop it!

    Pet peeve for me as well. It's like it is deliberately synched with my reaction speed to make me click on the wrong link.

    Spooky that, isn't it? I made exactly the same point in another thread. That together with the link mouseover overlap for the top menu links has me finding all the wrong pages much of the time.
