iRay Preview mode suddenly not working???

My iRay preview mode has suddenly stopped working. When I select it now, the characters in the scene stay gray silver surfer looking and do not start to render anymore. Did I accidentally change something??? I dont want to have to start mini renders in order to test my lighting...Help!!

Open your Task Manager, switch to Performance tab. Click on your GPU on left. Check your dedicated GPU memory has enough for the scene. ALso change one of the 4 boxes to CUDA mode and check if it's running. If the CUDA box is peaking out then something else is occuping the cards render.

Sometimes you need to reboot, is the only way to clean up leaked GPU memory that occurs from some driver versions and/or software.

I should also mention nothing else has changed, I only ever run Daz by itself so no other apps are using memory. Not sure what I did to change this.

  • Maybe there are too many assets in my project. I tried render preview in a new project and it worked fine. Not sure what the deal is.

Right click on your Task Bar, there should be an option for Task Manager.

    well

    - does it work when you hide most of assets in the scene?

-does it work while rotating camera?

It may have been too many assets..idk. I just gave up on it and started all over and its working fine now but still dont know what the real culprit is.

Alternatively, you can hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete and pick the task manager from the menu.
