"Sale Expiration" New Feature and New Add to Cart

As part of our website improvements, we've launched a new "sale expiration" warning on the cart, which currently shows up when you have less than an hour before the promotion ends.

Secondly, within the next week, we'll be testing an updated add to cart.

We hope you appreciate some of these enhancements.  As always, feel free to let us know your thoughts!

Thanks.

I personally like the sales expiration warning. It would be even better if it can show exactly which items in the cart are subject to such sales expiration.

...hmm I'm still getting the old cart format so I don't see it..

Is the % off shown in the cart a new feature, or are you using Daz Deals addon?

I like the sales expiration. Very helpful.

  • Great new feature. @Daz_Jessica, a kind of "countdown" on the flash sale on the shop page would be helpful as well. Not every Daz customer is familiar with the MDT time zone (though, the exact expiration time on the pronmo info is quite an improvement).

Sales expiration in the cart seems potentially useful, but only if you are monitoring your cart closely. If you put stuff in your cart and continue to shop, you might not be aware that the items in the cart are expiring while you are perusing the store pages or forums.

Sounds like some nice improvements! yes

In the updated "Add To Cart", the third image you posted, will the banner saying "Save $$$$$ when you become a PC+ member" not display if you are in fact a PC+ member? It would become annoying if it always appears no matter what. Just asking because it's an easy thing for a programmer to overlook if they're in a hurry (ask me how I know).

Seems similar to how Rendo advertises their Prime membership when you check out your cart there.

  • I like the warning in the cart, but I think it should be longer than 1 hour. If I check in during the work week (regular hours on week days) I don't usually have much time. So, I may quickly add something to the cart with the plan to come back and checkout when I have a bit more time to give it real consideration. If I knew exactly when I had to finish, I would be more likely to finish the sale maybe. There have been many times when I didn't get back in time and just emptied the cart.

Like the countdown as well, it's especially useful if you're in a different time zone!

I saw this yesterday when I put something in my cart.  Great addition.  Thank you for keeping us informed of new features.

The sale expiration warning is an excellent idea!  It helped me just now with a flash sale which was expiring.

The sale expiration warning is a good step, I've seen it requested for many years, I'm glad to see that either it was finally able to be done, or somebody finally listened... either way, good work and thanks.

  • Thank you for the cart countdown.

The sale expiration is good. I see no reason for the change to the 'add to cart' tho.

Okay now I see the discount percentage, how much I saved and the interactive license option. That's cool. Although I have to say it would be a bit annoying that you have to keep scrolling to see the content of the entire cart, if you buy a lot, as all these new features take up quite a bit of space. (Note: I am browsing on my Samsung mobile)

...yeah have Daz Deals running but it is so bloody useful, so loathe to turn it off.

However I had the new cart format for a couple days when it was first introduced and was also running the extension.

    Hi all,

While I appreciate the improvements, i think DAZ could take notes from Rendo and how they manage the time countdowns. Why just the last hour and not all the time in the product page? For us who live in other time zones with several hours difference is still not ideal, a very welcome improvement of course, but not ideal. I acknowledge this is not as straight forward, especially when a single item is part of two or more sales. IMO this shouldn't be the case but I've seen it.

Overall, I like the website moving in the right direction.

    Cheers.

The new Add to Cart page does not show the added discounts after items are added, but the actual cart does. For example, the Friends of the Sale items always show 50% off when added to the cart, even items added previously, but the real cart shows the proper 55% or 59% (with Debut or Still New).

....hmm suddenly it switched to the new one again.

  • Got the new one - used to be that if the final price was $0 (i.e. using store credit) then I didn't need to separately choose a payment method as the payment method was store credit. Now it's asking me to pick one (and store credit isn't one of the options though it's still using the credit). I select the credit card and it's all good, but it's an extra click that needn't be there. Just have 'store credit' as a payment option like before and default to it if store credit exists.

Does the "sale expiration" feature work with every item? For example, fastgrab items being removed in an hour, new items losing their intro discounts in an hour, etc?

  • I would say it's nice, except I can't check out.

I'm trying to check out with Paypal (Like I've done for 10 years) and I keep getting an error message asking me to confirm my address even though it's the correct address and the same one that's been attached to my Paypal since forever.

I had the same issue. After a couple of hours, I could check out fine without changing anything.

I have had that a few times in the last couple of weeks, but a simple refresh of the page seems to clear it up.

Should have tried that. I ended up "fake changing" my address and that seemed to make it happy.

I had to fake change my address in order to get PayPal to work. I couldn't get the Amazon Pay button to work at all, which is my preferred method.
