Dark seams on Genesis 3 characters.

Hey there,

After updating to Daz 15.0.30 I started seeing dark seams on my renders.

I, mainly, use the Daz public Beta version but the problem also shows up on the stable release.

I can see dark seams where the textures meet; I can clearly see seams around the under-arms and where most of the textures meet.

That is new, is there a way to prevent those seems from showing up on my renders?

Is the seams problem a know issue? I wonder if it is some kind of "Max Path Lenght" issue... or maybe it is a uv map problem.

Some help would be appreciated.

It's an SSS issue. Firstly, are you rendering in Spectral mode? Because that's known to cause it.

Otherwise, check the SSS settings in the Surfaces and make sure they all match.

    Thanks for your reply!

Yes, I'm using spectral rendering. I didn't know spectral rendering could cause those problems... good to know!

I haven't touch any of the SSS options; I changed the translucency value on one model, but the value is the same for all parts.

So, I'm guessing the spectral rendering is my issue.

I learned something new today. ^^

There's more info in the "Iray Photorealism?" thread. Try the new PBR Skin shader. IIRC, it either doesn't happen with that or the effect is negligable. It might depend on the skins you're using too.
