To beta, or not to beta, that is the question

To get the early Mac version, I turned on the beta program.  Now that it has been released, I keep getting reminded that there is an update.  Is there a post somewhere on how to turn off beta access?

What program are you using to install your Daz contents? That's where you'd have to set up this configuration.

In DIM you'd set this in up on the "Downloads" tab in the advanced settings.

I use DIM, did you mean "Download Filters"?  Is there a writeup on how to undo the damage I did to get into the beta?

Well, to my knowledge the 'damage' is neglectable. First the program itself installs under a different folder, and second... although I am not 100% sure here I believe that it also uses its own data folders. I'm on Windows so can't comment on the Mac environment, but Daz Studio should keep an "application data folder" called "Studio4" in which it saves your system presets ("user layouts", "user styles", and the web_cache).

This also makes me convinced that unless you actually started messing with your interface layouts then you should be perfectly safe here.

  • The beta has its own settings, but doesn't need to use different locations and theer shouldn't be issues letting them share.
