So, I have these earrings I wanna make DS freebies...
![AllenArt](https://farnsworth-prod.uc.r.appspot.com/forums/uploads/userpics/115/n4W2E704EJV30.jpg)
...and I don't know the first darn thing about making a smart prop in DS. I don't even know the first thing about saving a shader in DS. I used the UberSurface shader as a base for these shaders - am I allowed to do that? I also resaved them as shaders again, hoping that was the right thing to do ;).
Anyone willing to hold my hand on how to save and prepare the archive for a freebie? :P I'd made them for Poser previously and now I think it's time to do save them for DS (wanted to smart prop them to Vicky 6 specifically).
Thanks in advance.
Laurie

I don't think so. If you make something and I resave it, it'll be packaged up like I made it.
What we can do AFAIK is save "Shader Presets".
There might be some helpful information here.

When you're making the prop(s), parent them to the appropriate "bone" [i.e. head]. Then when you save the prop file, it'll have it showing as parented [unless they've changed that in 4.7, I'm still working with 4.6]. When the prop file is loaded, it will load then load in place and parented.

Edited to add: those earrings are PRETTY!
These look great, Laurie.
I have found a tutorial on creating a smart prop here

Maybe that'll help you.
You could also save as wearable asset. But I am not sure about the difference between those two.

Never save as a Wearables if you haven't first saved as a figure/prop asset, is the short version. Here's the longer version:

Those are lovely earrings! Some very pretty shader work there as well.
Thank you for the information, SickleYield. I have learned something new. :-)
I love these earrings, and I am very happy to hear that there will be a DS version soon! Thank you!!!
