Grouping body parts to make a single pose control

The newer figures have a one slider control for hand grip, the old ones like M3 don't.  I know how to select all digits in both the scene tree and the parameters tab and bend them simultaneously.  How do I combine that into one slider to save for later posing?

Comments

    1. Apply the pose
    2. Right-click the Parameters pane and set it to Edit Mode (if it isn't)
    3. Right-click in the group on the node where you want the controller and (from memory) Create New Property
    4. In the dialogue, name the property, set its Type to Modifer/Pose, set limits (you probably don't want it going below 0,) and so on
    5. Click Accept
    6. Set the new property to 100%
    7. Right-click on the new property>ERC Freeze
    8. In the dialogue check that the right sub-components are selected, and nothing that shouldn't be, then click Accept
    9. Test your new control, if it works save (if you are working on a pre-Genesis figure I'd use a Scene subset, since you can't just save asset)

I think you may have to step through it and document the process.  I can't quite find a few of the dialogues / controllers you are talking about.  What I did:

    1. Selected all fingers, all digits in properties pane.

    2. Bent them into a grip pose.

3-6. Not sure what you mean here.  Just right clicked while entire group of 12 selected.  Found dialogue.  Setup as best I could figure.  What it did: created a morph slider for each digit and set to 100%.  When any slider is moved, nothing happens.

    7. No clue where this is.

    Okay, what I did.

    1. Select left hand in zeroed state.  Create morph as you described, setting limits to zero and one.

    2. Select all fingers, all digits.  Pose them.

    3. Go back to morph on hand.  Set slider to 100%.

    4. Right click and set ERC Freeze, making sure only correct body parts are selected in checklist.

    5. Slider is working.

    6. Now I'll have to try saving as a scene subset and see if that works.
