There is no download link for DS3.0 unless you previously bought it from the store, in which case it will be in your My Account > Product Library area. You would need to open a Support ticket, and see if they can help you.

some of my plugins only work for DS 3.0 and not 4.7

Which plugins only work in DS3, and can you not return them if they don't work in DS4?

using the wayback machine on Cnet and DAZ site for serial I did in fact find a way but whether that still works I have no idea
not tried since someone else asked months ago
you need exact links for wayback machine

This book comes with a CD that includes software, but I think it's version 2.3 of DAZ Studio.

If you purchased said plugin within the last 30 days you can ask for a store credit*. You mentioned plugins as in plural, same would go for any of the recent purchases that will not work in 4.7.

There is another product in the store for animating textures in D/S which being a much newer product, should work fine in 4.7.

A few years back D/S3 was also available with one or two of the hardcover 3D magazines.

It is not uncommon for any developer to not provide too much support for past software, even Microsoft.

    * unless it was one of their no-refund group sale pitches.

Even if you bought it more than 30 days ago, it might be worth asking for a refund, unless the company is willing to provide a copy of DS3. The refund policy doesn't guarantee that they will honor this request, but it's probably worth asking.

    .

It's a standard practice for all companies. MS just finished support for Windows 7, Adobe does not support CS6 in OS 10.10 even with extended support contracts. Studio 3 has not been available to new customers for the past 3 years as I recall.

you can try back issues of Digital Arts October 2011 or 3D World #149 for legitimate installer packages with valid serial numbers.

FYI - A number of CDs (ISO images) from 3D World, including this one, can be downloaded from Internet Archive.

W7 is no longer getting regular updates to fix issues, it will continue to get security updates for another five years.

It's okay ... I'm not used to service anyway, just the patches. And the occasional heart attack oh well ...
