Pausing an ongoing animation!

Is it possible to paus an ongoing Animation that is taking long to render? I am using Image series mode.
Can i cancel the animation and restart a new from a specifik place in the timeline?

  • Yes, cancel and then start again with a revised start frame to allow for the ones that completed. That is oen of the benefits of rendering to an image sequence.

No. That dident work. The timeline moves back to Zero when you start the render again! But i figured out a much faster and better way
to do it. You use the timeline to forward the image step by step and set it to 'One image' rendering. And that way you can control when
the image is ready and also make adjusments like eye blinking and moving hair and clothing.

  • All you needed to do was adjust the start frame for the animation in Render Settings so that it started where it had left off.  That's what I meant by starting with a revised start frame - if your animation is frames 0 to 120 and you stop it part way through frame 29 then the enxtt ime you start the render you set the range to 29 to 120. If you know you are going to have to go in bites you can even set the render to do as many frames as you think you can fit (e.g. 0-28, then 29-46, and so on) which saves wasting time on partial frames.

  • Anyhow my animation is moving forward frame by frame and i can adjust everything along the way and i do it even faster now than if i use
    inage series!
