Importing your own clothes from hexagon
I sent a zeroed v6 to hexagon. She opened in hex beautifully as a grouped figure with textures, in the standard zeroed position. I made clothes fitted to her. I sent them back to DS. They appeared on her perfectly. The clothing item in question is in 3 parts, each separately UVed. They appeared as 3 separate OBJs, albeit I want them to be one shirt. If I weld them in hex, I believe it messes the UVs. Anyway, I selected one of them and used Transfer Utility to make it a shirt. I chose v6 in column 1 and the obj in column 2 and applied the Shirt preset. It expanded to thrice its size, moved, twisted and almost farted and flew out the window.
Any help would be appreciated! lol
Also, are there any solid, concise and well-made tutorials on how not to just make clothing but also how to organize all the files needed and make whatever text file changes are needed to package clothes and other products properly? I saw one recently more about how to motivate yourself to work from home hehe I need more details about the actual job.

Well, V6 is not zeroed - it has the V6 morph applied, though Reverse Source Shape from target should deal with that. Was the OBJ zeroed when you rigged it?
Oh, so you're saying I should build clothes on a completely unmorphed genesis 2 female? Also, I didn't rig anything, just used the transfer utility under "assets"
The Transfer Utility is rigging. Yes, if possible you want to model around the plain base - you can reverse a morph (as long as there's no scaling or translation) out of a model as noted above but that obviously introduces approximations and roughness, so it's best avoided.
which is exactly what's happening and no amount of tweaking is fixing it. ugh. I think maybe it's time to learn how to really make clothes properly. Any good tutorials you can recommend?
Well, it sounds as if what you are seeing is worse than a bit of roughness - but without seeing an image it's hard to know. This tutorial uses Hexagon to model for Genesis http://www.daz3d.com/classic-bikini - I don't know how good it is, but I have seen favourable comments.
I own this http://www.daz3d.com/master-hexagon-sexy-genesis-outfits and it was very helpful. It is on sale right now too!
It does 3 pieces from scratch to use inside DAZ.
There are plenty of free tutorials too if you dig around on youtube too by DAZ
