Decimator for Daz Studio Won't Install

Hi Guys:

I installed this via DIM into Daz 4.15.0.2 (tried the newest update but it crashes) and all I get

is what you see in the attached pic. I was expecting a box to paste the serial number but there

doesn't appear to be one. I got this at a great price but a bummer that it it's showing "red."

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Robert

  • A freshly downloaded copy of one of the Daz plug-ins will always be for the current version, and will not work in older versions. What are your system specs, and do you get an error when the current version crashes?

  • Duplicate post. Was answered by Richard H.

For those not in PC, new purchases of plugins are for the latest edition of Daz Studio.

    Hi Richard:

You're saying that Decimator will only work with 4.15.30?

    My system specs are: Win 10 21H1 64 bit. Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2400 CPU @ 3.10GHz. 8 gig sys ram, nvidia 1050ti Superclocked, 4 gig Vram.

Daz 4.15.0.2 works just fine but when I upgraded to 4.15.30, I got warnings from Norton 360 concerning unsigned Daz code. It installed but would not shut down and that's where the crash occurred.

I reverted to 4.15.0.2 but did not log anything concerning newest version crash.

Yeah I got that from Richard in PC.

Thanks Catherine. I'll have to determine why Daz 4.15.30 is crashing on my system.

  • The installer signing is a known issue, did you tell Norton to allow it? It's possible that soemthing failed to install correctly - I don't usually go for uninstall and reinstall but on this occasion it may be worth trying (just the application, and the Dynamic Clothing Control plug in if you own a license)

No. I didn't tell Norton to allow it. You're right about that Richard. I don't like uninstall, reinstall either. I can give it another go while addressing the Norton issue. I'll just create a restore point in Windows if it doesn't work again. Thank you,

All good now. I successfully upgraded to Daz 4.15.30 and it is now stable. I don't know why but I'll take it.

I was also able to register Decimator and it is functioning normally as well.

Thanks for the help Richard and Catherine.
