daz3d site horribly slow

I have a really good connection and no page i have tried today takes more than half a second to load. Except daz3d which takes 20-30 seconds while waiting for ingest.quantummetric.com

Do you really need to record all our actions ? Today the website experience was horrible because of that.

We're having the same problem. It's coming and going.

took me about 10 minutes (!) to log on for the shop and the forum, getting the "no recent personal data yadda yadda" all the time.

  • The store is unusable. I have a cart full of items, and I am unable to continue to make a payment, I get Bad Gateaway and similar errors.

What happened, did you update something? This needs attention and to be fixed ASAP!

Latest two errors when I want to go to the checkout page:

    1) First Error message

    Error: Server Error

The server encountered an error and could not complete your request.

Please try again in 30 seconds.

    2) Second error message (via Cloudflare)

    Error 524

     Ray ID: 6a63ccb9b88135d1 • 2021-10-30 10:04:59 UTC

    A timeout occurred

But apart from this error, the entire website is reall slow, takes up to a 1minute to load a page (if it's successful). I have a really fast +100Mbit internet in a major UK city, and every other page (non-Daz) are 100% ok. It's only Daz.

  • This has been reported to Daz.

  • Is this linked to the problems we're getting with DIM, getting ssl 11 handshake errors and won't download any content.

Daz central won't even show purchased content.

There is something going on with the hosting provider, our 95th percentile latency at 2am was 3.5 seconds and is currently at just under 2 and a half minutes.

It may surprise you that no one was up deploying changes to the site at 3am (our time) on a Saturday, so it looks like there is likely some network problem internally at the datacenter they are trying to work through. I'm looking through any configuration options I have to see if I can work around these issues.

  • Yip, I'm in the Uk. It's 1.20 pm and it's taken me 15 minutes to pay for an item. Site is slower than a drunken snail climbing up a greasy slope....

Think they probably left the tap on and used up all the hot internets, pretty sure that is how it works.

Restart the server, DAZ_Rawb. It can help.

The trouble is they are not Daz' servers (the basement wasn't big enough for those and the mad science laboratory) so Rob needs to liaise with the service provider, or try to figure out a workaround (or both, which is what I think he is doing).

The slowdown was confirmed to be an issue at the datacenter for the region we are in. They have been working on it and it looks like they are making good progress. The median latency is now down to 300ms, which is over double what we typically run at but is still faster than the old backend which averaged around 1500ms for the median latency.

The long tail 99th and 95th percentile latencies are still well beyond their typical values, so we aren't fully out of the woods so if you see an occasional stutter they are still working on things.

Long waits for a response is common for forum users. I thought the store used different servers though?
