Shader Ghost

Hello to all. Suddenly this product no longer works the way it always did.
https://www.daz3d.com/iray-ghost-shaders
I have used it many times with many items and it never gave me any problems. Something is wrong today.

Opacity and transparency density work well, but when I add environment the object is no longer visible.

I usually always use the black color.

What can I do?

  • Check to make sure your environment settings did not change -- it should be dome and scene.

  •  The settings of these parameters are right

Controlla per assicurarti che le impostazioni dell'ambiente non siano cambiate: dovrebbe essere cupola e scena.

Ghost lights are emissive and should work in all settings. Scene is only needed for photometric lights like spot lights.

Addressing the problem with the lights not working, I can only think that adding the enviroment hid the ghost lights behind a wall or something.

Maybe if you post your shader info would help. Try using another shader on the object to make sure it's working and not an issue with like geometry or UV. Also make sure that in Parameters it's set to Visible in Render.

  •  if I turn off the dome I see the black object which should be white instead. Tell me which panel you want to see

Click on the skull and show the surface tab contents. I'm about to step out for several hours though so if you need something right away hopefully somone else can assist.

The Ghost Shaders are not emissive, so if you are using the black background, there is no light in the scene to show the ghost. Try the dark grey environment, or something not completely black, or add some lights.

  •  I've always used it with the black background without adding lights or changing settings. I tested this ghost a few days ago and it worked fine. I don't know what has changed

  •  here is how it looks with the gray background

That's from the default camera's headlamp. In Iray, the options are "Never", and "When no Scene Lights". You can turn it on for cameras that you add (ON, OFF, AUTO).

  • Thank you all. I had to reset Daz and now it looks like it works
