Hi Guys I'm back and I'm wondering if the reason it crashes is Memory Related. I have 10 GB RAM but for some reason with no applications open My Total Free memory is 4.84GB. I have a utility called Memory Clean and it tells me current RAM.
Anyways, when i start up Decimator and push Prepare.....
I see the RAM goes down to even 3.99GB .
So is 3.99 not enough and that is the reason is crashing?
Should i upgrade my memory to something like 18GB or 24GB or 32GB so that there will be much more Free RAM and Decimator won't crash my DAZ? Or will it still crash it no matter what?
PS Im on a Mac. System 10.9.5 2.66GHZ Quad Core
I have a 32GB iMac and I have the same issue, so upgrading won't help you unfortunately. It's a problem with Decimator on the Mac - it simply doesn't work.
If you look at the dump you can see it's memory-related, but it's been broken ever since I bought Decimator about 18 months ago. :(
Yeah that sucks but it's ok for me now. All i'm doing is characters for Gaming and Unity and i just needed to decimate the basic V4 and M4 just one time . that's all. Cause after that, i got mega daz for Unity and i can just use that 1 time decimated base M4 and V4 and morph them in Unity. as many times as i want to make many diferent characters.
Maybe i'll decimate other objects later but in terms of characters, i won't be needing it much.
OK, cool. I'll have to take a look at MegaDAZ - I'm using DAZ for Unity characters too.
I ended up not using Decimator at all, and instead using Cruncher inside Unity. It's a good tool if you ever need polygon reduction inside Unity itself...but it sounds like you're OK now.
Cruncher huh? Sounds cool. It's free?
Well about MegaDAZ. It's great but there aren't any tutorials on how to add the clothing. But basically conforming clothing is easy with the Megafiers Wrap system . However, they only have a tutorial video of Old 2013 Megafiers when MegaDAZ didn't exist and it shows you need something like Max to transfer the morphs... but thats' when MegaDAZ didn't exist. so i'm not sure.
By the way for MegaDAZ you need MEgafiers. It's kind of expensive.
