How to load pz2 prop in Daz scene?

Hello,

I bought several props products from Daz that contain pz2 files.  The description for the products says that they can be used in Daz.  When I try to load the props in a scene, two boxes appear.  One box says the file is loading, the other asks me to select an item in the scene.  Why do I need to select an item?  Shouldn't the prop simply load without selecting anything?  I tried selecting a figure but it did not work.  I have tried searching forums for help but they explain complicated things such as using morphs on characters.  All I want to do is load a prop.  Would someone please tell me what I am doing wrong?  Any help would be appreciated!

A .pz2 is a file for Poser and not native to Daz Studio. What product is it so we can look it up to guide you in the right direction.

  • Thank you for the reply frank0314!  I figured it out.  The first Poser products I loaded were 3rd party props and, for some reason, put the prop files under "Poses" for some reason.  This led me to assume that props would normally be in the Poses folder.  Thus, I was trying to load pose files into the scene instead of the prop files that are under "Figures" in the Poser Library.

Usually static props would be in the Props folder but if a bone was added to the object it would be in the Figure folder. Glad you sorted it though. Happy rendering!

Yet prop products may also contain actual poses. Which commonly will use the .pz2 extension and reside in the Poses folder
