Move zip and dsx files?

My computer is almost filled up so I'm looking to move files that aren't needed.

I have always had my Studio files in MyDocuments.  I see that the installer puts them into a User file in the C drive in a Studio folder.  Under Contents there are hundreds of zip and dsx files.

Two questions:  Can I safely move the dsx and zip files to an external drive?

Can I move the Studio folder in C/User to the Studio folder I created in MyDocuments or the other way round? (to consolidate into one)

Ok, one more question:  I found hundreds more zips in another C/User folder in Public/PublicDocument/Daz3D.  Can these zips be moved to an external and deleted?

  • Zips and the matching DSX files are not needed after installation, so yes you can delete those - you can also move them to an external drive (though it will be slower, unless it's something like USB C) using the Package Archive setting in Install Manager>Advanced Settings>Downloads. Don't remove the separate dsx files in the Manifests folder as DIM uses those tot rack what it has installed..

Yes, you can consolidate your content directories - but if you move the one that DIM installs to you will cause problems unless you chnaeg the installation path (alose in Advanced Settings, in the Installation tab) and then select everything in the Installed tab, right-click, and use the option to reinstall using current paths.
