Question about Jen's tutorial on making a mannequin in hexagon for making clothing - Answered succes

I'm following Jen Greenless' tutorial to make a dress in Hexagon. I watched the tutorial for making a mannequin and it looked really cool. Unfortuanately, Jen did the tutorial by taking a figure from Poser to Hexagon and I'm taking a figure from Daz 4.7 to Hexagon using the bridge. It doesn't seem to work quite the same.
Once I get my figure into Hexagon, I don't have an arrow or drop down listing of all of the figures parts to change all of the materials to get the really cool looking mutli-colored mannequin. I can cut away any parts I don't need which is fine, but just curious why the drop down listing seems to be missing or if there is another way to access the materials for the figure because it isn't showing up in the materials section either.
Not a big deal as I can still use her great tutorial and I've made several mannequins by deleting unwanted sections as suggested in the tutorial to cut down on unneeded polygons on the mannequin itself. However, it would have been nice to have the really neat mannequin with the colors of my choosing.

Any help with doing this same thing with a figure from Daz to Hexagon, please let me know.

First of all, what figure are you intending to use?
The idea of creating a mannequin with different shading domains, was for use with earlier models, like V4 for example, where clothing had to be broken into parts that corresponded closely to the polys on each figure part. That is not necessary at all when using Genesis or Genesis 2 figures. You just create your clothing on the Base res model form DS using the bridge, then send it back to DS and rig it there.
Creating clothing for Generation 5 and 6 models is a lot simpler than Generation 4 (and before).
Instead of sending to hexagon export as OBJ, using the hexagon preset, and import that into Hexagon as (I expect) Jen does in the tutorial. I think the Hexagon bridge is like GoZ - it doesn't preserve grouping, which is annoying. Note, however, that if you are working with Genesis or other TriAx figures you don't need to group your model - the Transfer Utility will do that for you.
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll try that. I didn't go that route like the first Poser tutorial because I was going through Daz and didn't realize there would be a difference between sending it directly and sending it as a saved .obj file. I'm still learning. I'll try it, though.
As for which figure. I'm actually starting with a Genesis 2 base figure because I thought it would be the easiest to make clothes for them. However, I have collected a few nice V4 figures that I would like to make clothes for without going through the UV for X figure to Y figure (have them for the figures I have) as I would like to know how to do clothing for the original model without going through a third party.
So far, the G2 figures have been super easy, but I'm only halfway though the dress tutorial.

Thanks for the tip. Exporting as a .obj file did the trick. I successfully exported Victoria 4.2 and loaded her into Hexagon and she has all of her parts listed and I can now access the materials and change them all. I should now be able to follow Jen's wonderful tutorial fully.
Such a little thing, but it makes a big difference. I didn't realize that using the bridge between the two programs caused some things not to export out. I just thought Daz had made things easier and I could skip a step, but sometimes it pays to follow through as close as possible to the original tutorial. It would have been a little easier if someone made a tutorial like Jen's, but for Daz because there were some difference between the two programs with the exporting, but I managed.
