Content Database Duplicate Disaster

OK so my database had its own storage drive but when the drive had about 10GB left I added a new drive and configured The install manager to recognize both content directories and to install to the new one and then configured dazstudio to do the same. and it worked Grate for awhile but now I have alot of duplicate content between both directories including multiple Genesis (123&8) base models. and it had made the already long load time of Genesis 8 even longer and shows the same content multiple times in smart content and content Library

Duplicated files wouldn't usually, in my limited experience, have a big impact on load times but I'm not entirely following - Smart Content is showing database entries rather than directly showing files on disc.
If it's just database references then it isn't wasting much space. Right-click on each member of some of the pairs and select Browse to File Location - do you go to diffrent files tor the same?
Oof, something seriously broke there.
I tried to replicate this issue, with no success.
Multiple directories, multi drives, couldn't even get DIM to download or install if i had already installed it, via dim
Couldn't get Smart content to show multiple versions no matter what i did.
Deleted out the cms folder, deleted out everything i could find related to it, re-import meta data, and nada.
I even played around with folder order in CDM.
And bleep help me, i even tested for the old connect bug.
So, I'm gonna suggest the only solution i can come up with at this point.
You're going to need to delete out the previous files/folders, manually, as DIM probably doesn't recognize them.
Be sure to check which of the versions DIM is reporting the files in, then delete the other one out, manually.
Once that's done, reimport the meta-data and it, should, correct the issue in smart content.
If somebodies got a better suggestion, i'd love to hear it.
