How do I activate dark mode for the forums? If it doesn't have the option, can you please make one? The stark white backround makes my visial snow go nuts for minutes after leaving the froums lol.

They don't have one and aren't likely to make one. You can try an extension called Dark Reader for your browser (I know for sure they have it for Firefox and Chrome) that will do it.
Oh helllllll yeah, this addon is great! Thanks for pointing it to me.
YW. I use it all the time. I can't stand the bright white either ;)
Hopefully I will never have to deal with floating black stripes on my vision again lol.
Thanks so much too. It has been driving me nuts for almost 20 years. I can see again.
Not gonna lie, ever since I first got on this site, I've been looking for the dark mode. It would be great if they added one since most websites have one nowadays. :/
I have been using Dark Background Light Text addon myself, I have tried Dark Reader but that had issues with some sites.. Will try the Dark Mode addon as I have found with Dark Background Light Text, that I have to reset it sometimes..
But it would be nice for a built in dark mode as would make life so much easier and a lot less stress on ones eyes.. For as like everyone here, staring at a bright white screen does not do favours for ones eyes..
After reading this thread I also installed Dark Reader but I also found that some sites - including another forum I frequent - don't appear to support light text on the dark background. So I need to find an alternative.
After some testing I have found that the Dark Mode addon is okay but it is an all or nothing addon, where as the Dark Background Light Text allows you to choose which websites to use it on.. So it seems for me I am sticking to the Dark Background Light Text addon..
Indeed ... I have just swapped out Dark Reader for Dark Background Light Text and yes, now I can disable it for the sites that don't offer light text input. I have to say, however, that it far from perfect. For example, the editor buttons as I type this are hard to make out (see attached image).
Wow, Dark Reader is nice. Looking at the forums for 16-18 hrs a day is hard on the eyes and this makes it a lot more comfortable, thanks.
I will vouch for Dark Reader as well. These are my settings for Daz3D:
I can't find that settings panel.
You can chose which to use Dark Reader on too. Just open the extension and click on the website address in the upper left of the popup. If there's an x beside the address, it's off, click it and it turns on. Clicking on the on or off buttons turns it on or off everywhere.
Ahh - didn't spot that. Thanks.
What browser are you using?
Do you have the Dark Reader icon on your tool bar? Thats what i clicked on to get the menu
I just snagged this. Wonderfull, my eyes thank ya all!
Totally rezzing a thread because this is an awsome browser addon!! Thank you for suggesting it @AllenArt my migraines thank you as well!
Reminds me of Editpad, a Notepad replacement that has a nice dark mode. I use it for text files.
