UV unwrap

This question is in regards to uv maps and how clean Daz wants them to be before publishing. I model in 3ds Max and the uv unwrapping can be a pain and time-consuming. I could just box unwrap the normals and send to Substance Painter, with tri-planar projection seems are not an issue. However, clean uv maps are usually desired. Will a model be refused if parts on a uv map are not easily defined i.e. say a car's body is not easily recognizable? If Daz wants this, is there a better 3rd party UV program than 3ds Max.

Question should have been "is there any app worse than 3DS Max" ;) For unwrapping they're really terrible, and I've been using Max since the DOS versions.
You should try apps specialized in unwraping. RizomUV destroys any competition in this area. It does everything better and insanely faster than Maya, Blender or (the worst really for unwrapping / packing UV islands) 3DS Max.
