Please Help. Postgres Issue I Cant Seem To Fix

I've been getting an error message that says I don't have a valid Postgres CMS connection.  This has been happening since I installed Version 4.12.  I've turned off all of my firewalls and given permission for every single line of postgres I could find.  I've uninstalle the Postgres stuff and re installed  Nothing is working and I am now beyond frustrated.  I do have all of my stuff on a separate drive.  But it worked fine in previous versions.

  • Which version of PostgreSQL do you currently have installed?

    And did you tell D/S where to find it? {one of those preference options, CMS Settings.}

    currently there are three of them.  postgreSQL CMS from valentina conversion package

    postgreSQL CMS public build beta

    And another postgreSQL CMS from valentina conversion package

    I only get the message when I run the beta which is currently the newest.  But I was getting the message with the beta 4.12 as well.  I don't get the message when I'm running hte 4.11 non beta version.

    And yes, I've had everything pointed to my external drive forever.

  • The conversion isn't PostgreSQL, and doesn't actually install anything - it is a utility that convets the old Valentina databases which were the initial basis for the Content Managment System to PostgreSQL format, which they do while being "installed". You can ignore those.

    The Beta version should say whether it's 32 bit or 64 bit.

    64 bit

  • OK, so the mystery is why it appears to be the 32 bit version. Are you sure it is going, and that DS etc. are not running, when you uninstall?

    Sorry, I was getting my threads muddled - it was someone else who was getting the 32 bit version of PostgreSQL

    Has this issue been fixed yet in the newest version?  I've had this issue from 4.12 up to the beta build of 4.21.  The 4.11 version I still have on my machine does not have this issue.

    This is usually an issue on the system in question, security software, folder perissions, other folder/drive iissues....

    No it connects just fine when I use 4.11.   I've gone through my whole system  giving permissions etc.  I've turned my antivirus and firewall completley off.  I've uninstalled and re installed, and every other thing I can find on this.

  • Well, I am certainly not aware of any systematic issue. Do you have both versions of DS installed on the same machine, or are these different systems?
