For a complete Mariachi band we need bunch of stuff. I can find most everything but where can I find one a guitarron?

A "Spanish guitar" is what we would just call a guitar (as opposed to a steel or Hawaiian guitar). A guitarron is actually a bass instrument, with a much larger body than a regular guitar and a very short, fretless neck.

Maybe you can Frankenstein monster a guitarron by blowing up a Guitar body, then affixing a separate guitar neck & strings?

It would depend on how much you could edit out on Surfaces or the geometry editor.

A bare minimum Mariachi band will have a guitar, a trumpet, a violin, and the guitarron. As they grow larger they just add more of all of these and perhaps include a harp. There is nothing like the rousing music put out by these instruments especially if you are in an enclosed space.

Actually, a truly proper Mariachi band would have a vihuela rather than a guitar. Fortunately, one of those is available in Props of Mexico.

I'd also love to see a bajo sexto.

Been watching this thread for some time with great interest.  Bought the guitarron from cgtrader and while subdividing it in D|S works, it messes up the surfaces (not too much of a problem) and the strings.  So am learning Blender and seeing if I can fix it there as that was the original source.

Apropos of nothing am learning Blender not just to get the Guitarron to work:  I originally downloaded a free harp guitar but it wouldn't texture properly in D|S and Richard pointed out that it may not be UV mapped.  I also feel for @cclesue because I spent days looking for an electric cello for a stringed quintent (similar to Bond, although they're a quartet) for a narrative I'm working on.
