Is there a version of the LightPanel plugin for DS4 that worked in DS2 and DS3

I don't remember who wrote the LightPanel plugin which allowed full control of all of the lights in as much detail as you wanted and it worked beautifully in DS2 and DS3. Whoever it was bless their heart.

It was brilliant and super easy to use. Saved tons of time for since for example you could turn all of the lights, or only certain parameters.

It should have been made part of DAZ Studio.

Anyone remember ?

Thanks,

Dan

I remember it, AFAIK it was never updated past DS3.

Any idea who created it? Is there any chance that the DS3 version would work in DS4?
I haven't tried to install it because I don't think there's much chance that it would work.

I don't remember who it was and couldn't find a readme.

Actually, I just tried it, and it does seem to work in DS4.7.

That's great. Would you mind listing the steps to make it work? I no longer have the instructions to get it installed and accessible.

1 What folder should it go in ?
2 Where would I find it once DS4 is launched ?

    Thanks !

It's just a .dsa, so you can put it in any DS-format content folder (i.e. not under Runtime) -- I have it in My Library\Lights

Just as a matter of interest, I have it in a folder marked DeltaX15, with other scripts.

I never imagined it would work in DS4.7, but it seems to work (haven't tested much)

Thanks both for reminding me :)

Once installed will it automatically show up on one of the pull down menus?
If not do I browse to the folder and click on it?

Thanks a lot to both of you.

    I'm happy !

Browse to the folder and double-click. Or browse to the folder, right-click and select Create Custom Action - that will add it to the Scripts menu (and create the Scripts menu if necessary) from which you can launch it.

Once I'm in DAZ Studio, how do I go to any arbitrary folder in order to right-click the file?
    Where is the Scripts MenU?

    Thanks,

    Dan

You can't go to 'any' folder to run the script, just go to the folder you installed it into.

In my library folder, 'My DAZ 3D Library', I have a folder called 'Scripts' where I install all of my script files to. I just navigate to it in the Content Library pane, under DAZ Studio Formats > Scripts, and run the file from there.

Where did you put the script file? If you know the folder name, then just navigate to that inside DS, and double click the script to run it.

Of course, I meant the folder into which I put the plugin.

The key information I needed was

" I just navigate to it in the Content Library pane, under DAZ Studio Formats > Scripts, and run the file from there."

I put the plugin in a folder called DeltaX15, because based on an earlier reply, I think that's who created it.

It shows up but when I click it, or double click on it all I get is an error message.

Perhaps I've got an old version, version 1.8, is there a newer version? If so, where can I download it?

Thanks for supplying the clearest answer to my question, unfortunately I'm still not getting it to work. I've uploaded a screen capture.

Light Panel 20 was the final version, not sure if it's available any more, but if it's by DeltaX15 you can PM him here:

I have LightPanel-20 and it works OK.

I think it was on 4Shared, but Googling has found nothing, sorry.

I've got 2.1 in my Scripts menu along with the Headlamp Simulator, MJCasual's JumpTo script and other very useful DSAs. Still works in 4.7.

Since I can't get mine to work (and only see a thumbnail), I can't see if the author's name is on the plug-in anywhere. Those of you who have got it working could you please check to see if the author is in fact DelatX15, or someone else?

    Thanks,

    Dan

I'm still alive - even if only briefly :)
The last dsa I can find is attached. (nope)
-The dsa is in text so you can edit it in the script editor.
-The dsb files are encrypted and can't be opened. - I used to provide it like that in case I decided to make some products.
I still have a pile of scripts I meant to convert to DS4. I guess I did manage this one.
    I'm glad it still works.

The dsa can't be attached directly.
I tried renaming it as txt and that didn't work either.
Weird you can't post scripts on the forum...

So I thought maybe I should put it on my github site. Obvious really... How things have changed since 2010.
    https://github.com/Neon22/DazStudio-Light-Panel

Thanks drdancm et al for finding me.
    Best wishes everyone...

    Thank you very, very much!

Apart from pictures there are no attachments allowed - the only possibility to add a script here is to use the "Code" button when using the "post reply" (instead of fast reply) button.

    Script-text

This way people can copy paste it to a text editor.
