Centering a tool on item?

Hi,

I am wondering if I can recenter for example the rotation tool on a prop. I have the Fantasy Book and it's frustrating when I want to rotate it, that the rotation tool is not centered on the book but somewhere a bit away and it takes forever to move the book to its location.

If you move the prop by its root node (the equivalent of the Hip on a human) then it will be offset from the figure node. You can copy the settings from the root bone to the figure node, then zero the bone. Some items are actually modelled that way, if the root bone is zero then you can use the Joint Editor to move the centre point of the selected node.

Thanks for the answer.  I understand moving the prop by it's root node. What I don't understand is how to copy the settings from the root bone to the figure node and then how to zero the bone?

Just edit the paramaters in the Paramerts pane, or use Edit>Copy>Selected Node(s) with the bone selected, Edit Object>Zero>Zero Selected Node(s), then with the figure selected Edit>Paste>Paste Selected Node(s).
