FIrst of all, how are you installing your products? What method? DIM, manual, or Central? We need to know this so we can better guide you through the process.

  • How did you originally install the content?

  • I install mostly content manuel and sometimes with dim.

  • Manual content doesn't require any special steps, just copy it over and (if you aren't using the default locations) tell Daz Studio where to look through Edit>Preferences>Content tab>Content Directory Manager, optionally you may want to use the Content Library option menu (the lined button in the top corner of right-click the tab)>Content DB Maintenance to reimport the metadata, if it included any.

The same will work for Install manager content in DS, but then Install manager won't know it's there - if you copy over the Manifests folder that is, by default, in the Install manager folder in Public Documents, then it will have a list of what it isntalled - if you used the same locations on both systems then you'd be done, if not (and if you also kept and copy over the zips) you may want to select everything in the Installed tab and, after making sure the paths are what you want in the Advanced Settings, right-click and choose the option to reinstall all selected.

  • I want to install it in D drive not C drive and in Content Directory Manager there are 2 paths for Daz Content and 2 paths for poser Content do I need to copy them in D drive or should I  just delete them and add the new path to the folder on the D drive

  • If you have moved the files and folders then the old pointrs serve no purpose.

Keep in mind if you added custom maps and they are not located in the same path they will not be found when reloading a previous scene.

If they were located in a folder listed as a content directory before and the relative path to the new content directory is the same now there shouldn’t be any problems.
  • Thanks a lot for everybody, I will try it and report if something doesn't work.
