Increased times when working with Gen8,lots of morphs installed

Hello all,
This is especially bad for Gen 8/8.1 females for me, as there I have the most morphs, but it's still pretty slow for males and Gen 3 females as well.
I know this is an already known issue and have seen several threads about it.
The recommended fix that I saw was to either uninstall as many morphs as possible, if you are not working with them, which to me it sounds like I threw money out the window for whatever I'm uninstalling.
A second solution, that doesn't sound as bad, although it doesn't sound good either, was to create sepparate content folders for the morphs and add/remove them from the library so as them not polluting your work. This, although more work to setup at least does sound a little better but I am hoping there is another solution to this, that I haven't come across yet.
I know that for a new character, the morphs are there and there is nothing to do, I don't have a problem with that, but If I already have my preset characters with which I work, is there no way to save them or something, where they don't have all those morphs.
I know that for the fit control or the add-on there is an add morphs button, and after you play with the different sliders you also have an option to remove all unused morphs. Is there no such option for the characters?
The load times have gotten so bad that it takes now longer to load a scene than it takes to render it... which ton me it sounds aburd, as when the loading occurs, neither the cpu or the gpu is necessarilly working hard, it just takes forever to do so.
It now also takes about 5 minutes to delete a character, maybe even more (I am currently in a 23 minute wait to delete 3 characters at once from a scene). This is getting absurd, not only for the wasted time itself but also because it completely disrupts the workflow.
Please, anyone, give me a solution that doesn't juggling with my morphs or uninstalling a lot of my content (which is esentially throwing money out the window as I know once uninstalled I won't use it).
If I knew how bad it would get, I would have looked a lot more carefull at anything containing morphs, when I purchased them.
Thanks

The first thing to look at is your log and check for warnings and conflicts (Help->Troubleshooting->View Log File)
You could attach the log to your post with "Attach a file" above the "Post Comment" button.
Wow, very good suggestion, to check the log, don't know why I didn't think about it.
I have a lot of : 2021-11-18 14:56:33.175 WARNING: ..\..\..\..\..\src\sdksource\fileinput\dzassetdaz.cpp(6843): Could not find target property for formula: Genesis8Female:/data/DAZ%203D/Genesis%208/Female/Morphs/DAZ%203D/Base%20Pose%20Head/eCTRLLipsPart.dsf#eCTRLLipsPart?value in file : /data/DAZ%203D/Genesis%208/Female/Morphs/Crocodile/CO%20Ichigo/eJCMCO_IchigoLipsPart.dsf#eJCMCO_IchigoLipsPart
and Genesis8Male:/data/DAZ%203D/Genesis%208/Male/Morphs/DAZ%203D/Base%20Pose%20Head/eCTRLBrowOuterUp-DownL.dsf#eCTRLBrowOuterUp-DownL?value in file : /data/DAZ%203D/Genesis%208/Male/Morphs/DAZ%203D/Jonathan%208/pJCM_Jonathan8_BrowOuterDownL.dsf#pJCM_Jonathan8_BrowOuterDownL
somehow, along the way, the mapping to this got screwed.
They are present, in the cloud folder, installed through smart content.
I think that daz is looking for them somewhere else.
Any idea how to fix the mapping?
How do you normally install your content, do you use DAZ Central or DIM, or have you only used DAZ Connect (within DS/'Smart' Content)?
Do you own Jonathan 8? If not, there is your problem. Looks like you have installed a character that need Jonathan 8, yet he can not be found. Uninstall that character and the error should go away.
I should add that I have fixed issues highlighted in the log, and the speed up in load times was minimal, so I would be surprised if fixing this one issue will significanly improve your load times, but you have nothing to lose by trying.
I install about 90-95% of my stuff through Connect.
The rest usually with DIM.

Yes, I own Jonathan8. I looked at a few of the errors, and I have all those characters.
All of these errors are for the base morphs missing (which btw is also blocking me from properly using expressions, I noticed afterwards).
I also don't think all the load time problem is from there but... When I opened the log, it was something like 500.000 lines +. So I imagine that it does contribute to the problem. The more stuff I open, the bigger the log gets, and the longer it even takes to write to it. It even took me a couple of minutes just to open it.
Was that a genesis 8.1 male? If so it could be the place holders that are added by DAZ to stop the 8.0 expressions working on 8.1 do not have the control you are looking for.
This is why I delete the files from:
data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Female 8_1\Morphs\Daz 3D\Expressions\Base Pose Head
data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Female 8_1\Morphs\Daz 3D\Expressions\Expressions
data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Male 8_1\Morphs\Daz 3D\Expressions\Base Pose Head
data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Male 8_1\Morphs\Daz 3D\Expressions\Expressions
At least then I can use all my old expression sets on Genesis 8.1. It might fix your error, but you should back up those files somewhere before deleting them if you want to try it.
Unfortunately he is a genesis 8: https://www.daz3d.com/jonathan-8
I have problems I think with all my genesis 8 characters, as I said, there were 500000 lines in the log, most of them similar to the ones I copied here.
I think somehow, DSz is looking in the wrong path for data/DAZ 3D/Genesis 8/Female/Morphs/DAZ 3D/Base Pose Head and the Male counterpart.
the path in my computer where these are is : M:\Daz 3D Library\Studio\My Daz Connect Library\data\cloud\1_42071\data\daz 3d\genesis 8\female\morphs\daz 3d\base pose head, I am unsure where DS is looking for them. Wish I could check.
Have you installed all your content with DAZ connect, or a mixture of connect and other things? I am not saying that is causing the issue, and I can not really comment, as I have never really used Connect. I install all my (DAZ) content with DIM.
I install about 90-95% of my stuff through Connect.
The rest usually with DIM.
I get warnings at least for stuff installed through Connect, not sure if I get errors for the DIM ones too.
I also want to mention that I had a lot of stuff installed on a certain drive and I uninstalled it and reinstalled it on a different drive.
The new drive is also added to the Daz file directory as now, most of my stuff is installed there.
No, it's the other way around... The warning says = While reading the file 'pJCM_Jonathan8_BrowOuterDownL.dsf', DS found a reference to 'eCTRLBrowOuterUp-DownL.dsf' that it cannot find.
If you are saving poses and reloading them and getting frustrated at the load time you can reduce this to a FRACTION of the load time. When saving a pose or char preset make sure to use the check only used seleciton in the gear. However when applying a pose you have to zero the character first otherwise it's a blend of the current pose and the new pose, but this saves me 10 minutes easy per pose load.
Massive amounts of warnings and conflicts have a major effect on loading times, those can make your Genesis 8 Basic Female take 15minutes to an hour to load, where it would take less than 5 minutes without them.
Mixing DAZ Connect installations (the ones in Cloud folder) with DIM/DAZ Central/Manual Installations is not a good idea, because the DAZ Connect installations will always take priority over any other installation methods, even when the DAZ Connect installed ones were corrupted (not unusual), and there is no benefit using DAZ Connect over DIM, just potential for problems.
Don't use DAZ Connect, so sorry, cannot help in getting the load order fixed.
Ok, I thought that maybe the installation was corrupt so I reinstalled starter essentials.
Tested the Genesis 8 female, everything fine. Thought to myself problem solved.
Tested the Genesis 8.1 female (all my characters G8.1), the problem came back.
I got all the warning I did before.
So apparently, this is a problem for trying to find the Genesis 8 controls for a Genesis 8.1 character. Is this a common issue, is there a fix for it?
Everytime you install G8 starter essentials, there is a set of dummy morph files that gets installed into G8.1 morph folders to prevent G8 base expressions from working on G8.1
Making the G8 base expressions (and any expressions that are using them) work on G8.1 requires removing dummy/placeholder expressions that are installed to G8.1 morph folders - These dummy/placeholder expression files have no other function than to prevent the base G8 expressions from loading.
The dummy/placeholder files are located in;
...\Data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Female 8_1\Morphs\Daz 3D\Base Pose Head\ (255 files)
...\Data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Female 8_1\Morphs\Daz 3D\Expressions\ (24 files)
...\Data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Male 8_1\Morphs\Daz 3D\Base Pose Head\ (255 files)
...\Data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Male 8_1\Morphs\Daz 3D\Expressions\ (24 files)
Please make sure you are removing the files from G8.1 morph folders and not G8 morph folders.
Although this trick will not improve your load times very much, but without your log, it is difficult to give you better advice.
Since you have been using DAZ Connect also in installing your products, you may have several places where these morph files are installed.
Thank you!
This cleared a lot of my log now.
There are still a few errors, but not related to that, will have to take a closer look.
It baffles me that Connect still has problems. For me it seems easier to just do everything from inside DS than use DIM, if I can avoid it. But might have to reconsider depending on how many corrupted data I find.
The load time felt better, but I will have to wait until tomorrow to start working and see how it feels with more than just the base genesis 8.1 females.
Thank you again for the solution for the log.
