Congrats to Daz3d and the PAs for Darius and Monique Characters and Bundles

Wow! Double wow!

These are easily some of the best looking morphs and best looking (most realistic) character skins I have ever seen on the Daz3d website to this day. The associated content also looks super awesome, in particular the horns on the witch doctor outfit.

While some people might take issue with the promo images, I for one think the images are fine and want to make it clear to Daz3d and the hard working PAs involved in the project that at least some of us strongly support Daz3d's embrasure of ethnic groups.

Darius looks like about a million guys I know, and Monique is a dead ringer for my mother in her 20's and 30's. I am really excited by these characters and will be purchasing them as soon as I can afford them.

Bravo....Brilliant.....Long overdue.....and deeply satisfying. This sort of content really makes me love being associated with Daz3d.

Please continue to raise the bar with each new release just the way you have here.

    Yeah I'm a happy camper right now.

    Bought the Monique bundle just a bit ago. Now I need to budget in the Darius bundle.

    These are figures I've been waiting years for.

    The wallet just wishes they hadn't come out at the same time... :)

    It's great to see some diversity in figures and the realism on both these new figures is some of the best I 've seen yet.

    In my wishlist till Tuesday. The hair is really cool, to put it mildly (Is it Tuesday yet).

    I was noticing as I was spiel-checking for another post, one of the promos really looked close to Michael Jordan. I'm am thinking about trying to dial a dead match. With the nose and chin that close, it can't be that difficult. Paul Taylor (jazz) is another I'm thinking of.

    Messy Dreads, is absolutely in my top must have list. I know I've seen someone with a style just like that, I'm just drawing a blank at the moment (reggae musician, or rock-band drummer?). No, not Prof, Sylvester James Gates, some one else, lol.

    Minato Outfit looks hot. Omri Hair is one of the best short hair styles I've seen for Genortaion 6, leaps and bounds better then the colored scalp I've seen on some generation 4 figures. The realism I'm seeing in the promos of all the detailed curls is fantastic.

    FW Travis reminds me of a few singers from the early nineties. Bell Biv DeVoe? or possibly more like one of the Bobby Brown crew? etc. An incredible addition to the G2M gene pool.

    FW Cayman, I'll need to think about him a tad longer, drawing a complete blank. I know, swallow my foot moment, lol. I'll stop there for the moment. I really only looked over the base figures before now.

    "O" and on that last note, the skin textures are incredible, bravo.

    These are the best Generation 6 figures and they come with the most interesting bundles! Which ARE NOT SKIMPY!!! YAY!

    I'd love to create my own bundle of the base figures, the female versions of Omri and Vidal plus Witch Doctor, Tribal Dancer and Swamp Witch. Hey, even to splash out more, throw in Ma Belle Poses and Find Your Mojo Expressions! Many thanks.

    Thanks to all the discounts I got, I was able to purchase both pro bundles. Getting these two wonderful characters was never an issue, the only issue was how much I could afford. I've been happy with most DAZ figure releases, but in my mind, this couple raises the bar to an even higher standard. They are just amazing! I've mentioned before in another thread how much I love them, but Thank YOU, Rashad, for starting such a positive thread.

    Just a couple weeks ago, I was complaining about the lack of variety of characters available for G2...

    I'm very happy to see Monique and Darius, and even happier I was able to get them this weekend, so I could vote with my wallet that I want more characters like these.

    Yeah these are my favorite G2 DAZ-O characters so far. FW Oliver still has my top male spot but FW Cayman is like within milimeters close, and his skin texture is a masterwork... I was squeeing out loud when Fred showed him to me the first time.

    Darius and Monique were a very pleasant surprise. There were whisperings about a new figure even when Keiko was announced, but we had no idea what sort of figure she would be. Note, I say 'she' because there wasn't any hint of Darius at the time, so he came as a bonus surprise!

    The bundle itself has some very nice contents, and the skin textures for them are amazing. Daz were also offering an extra discount to those who bought both bundles, so I snapped them up for what feels like pennies. The morphs blend really nicely with other morphs too. I gave Monique a little Belle and youth morph and she makes a lovely teen.

    I hope you realize Fisty, that FW Cayman amongst the others are going to end up in the ZDG test chamber in a few days (Unless some one else dose it first), because of the doubts about the skin tones in the promos.

    I'm expecting to be presently surprised, like I was with Night Elves, and FWSA Serena. About the only thing that could dampen the excitement, is if they rear up that Leopard skin effect, and there is no Alternate shader to switch to. I can easily get away with using Serena's alt mats on the gals, the gents I've yet to get an alternate shader for any of them. I have Lee6 pro, Brodie6 extended whatever pack, and M6. And not a single alternate shader amongst any of the figures included in the bundles.

    I am open to suggestions for G2M alt mats?

    That leopard problem is the scale on the SSS being wrong for a full body shot, she probably looks fine in a large face shot.

    Here's Cayman and Oliver, rendered with their low light mats and the FW Character Lights. (the regular ones, not the bright ones)

    Thanks for this thread Rashad. I love too Darius and Monique characters. I agree with everything what you said.
    Swamp Witch and Vidal Hair are my favorites.

    PAs in bundle and others products did an amazing work. I am also had this feeling that I see a relative or a friend, Ozichick's River and Riya too.

    I am working out a permanent solution starting with FW Phoebe's alt mats. I'm copying over the mat backing colors at this moment. And then I'm going to do a FWSA Serena render like that Sandra one.

    They look so good, and I don't lean that way, lol. When I wish I looked like the figure more then well say a 6-foot-2 been-pole, it's good. I was, believe it or not, to short for the school team back in the day, and my aim just was not worth it. I ended up playing soccer instead. Then I spent four years at a desk operating a set of SSTG units (Ship Service Turbo Generator), and I kind of lost that build I use to have.

    This definitely relates to the shading rate or shading scale on some shaders.

    The issue is SS shaders need to be adjusted for scaling of the figure and sometimes just camera distance from the figure.

    @Fisty: Lovely image. Like that very much.


    I am really happy with Darius. He is in fact, my favorite Gen 2 male base figure. Very nice texture. Great body. Nice pecs. Renders so well, makes great figures, and mixes well with other figures. In short, I'm delighted and he is my favorite male base.

    I also really like the hair included. I can see I will use most of it.

    Here Is Darius dialed into River on the Right and River on the Left who is a Darius morph.

    Yes! I admit that in terms of Caucasian skin, Giselle and Olympia - even G6 - are good too.

    Agreed, very, very impressive. As well, extremely happy that they were able to release both female and male bundles on the same day.
