Ultrascenery question

Is it possible to combine multiple ecologies? Like ground cover from one, trees from another. Or possibly trees from two different ones?

The easiest way to do so might be to replace instance parents in order to change scenes generated with UltraScenery using the following:

That's a cool tool, but not quite right for the purpose. I was aiming to combine instances, not replace them. But apparently you can save an Ultrascenery instance layer as a scene subset and merge it with another scene.
