Questions about posing *SOLVED*
Ok, so I have a scene in which I've placed a man and a woman, and through ridiculous amount of trial and error, I have them holding hands on one side, the man's right. I have two questions about this scene:
1 - Is there a way to mirror the characters so that the left side is doing exactly what the right side is (I'm trying to get a family holding hands around a table, with like 8 people in total holding hands, yes I'm apparently crazy)
2 - How can I save the pose I made for the man/woman so that I can apply it to the other men/women in my scene?
3 - (I lied, I guess there are 3 questions) Is there a freebie pose set somewhere with something kind of like this? I don't think there is, but if anyone knows of one, please shout out!

Personally I would 1.Save a scene subset since you have them where you want them ,you can get rid of it later if you want .2. Parent the female to the male ,then save as a "hierarchical pose" .At this point I test it to see if it work ,so clear the scene and bring in a fresh couple ,parent the female to the male and then try the hierarchical pose on the, male which should pose both of them . If it works great !! if not clear the scene reload the scene subset and try again .Once it works right ,then unparent the 2 figures ,pick one and go to the parameters tab ,go to symmentry ,and click on it ,a smaller window will pop up pick left -right .The figure should mirror your pose , do the same for the other figure , now manually move them from the hip node to line up the hands again, then parent the female to the male and save again as a hierarchical pose ,........I hope this helps
1. There's a Zev0 product called Pose Fusion (or Pose Fusion Plus) which does exactly that.
2.. Simply saving the pose as a Pose Preset should work for any figure of the same generation/gender [EDIT] ... Carrie seems to have a better way for saving the couple together though.
3. I don't know of such a freebie.
You can use the Symmetry Tool, under the Edit menu, to mirror a pose. Can't remember the exact settings off-hand.
That said, Daz Studio is not really capable of handling figures interacting. Especially more than two. While I'd recommend using a program with proper IK, such as Blender, if you really want to stick with Daz Studio download mcjAutolimb2015 to alleviate at least some of the headache involved with getting figures' hands to line up.
Thanks, everyone, with your help I think I'm getting it to work! It's not perfect by any standards, and it's slow going, but it will work for my one little Thanksgiving render I'm working on. Plus, I learned a LOT about posing in Daz, so thank you all very much!!! ^_^
And I'll look into the MCJ script, from what I understand they've done a bunch of them, but I don't think I've ever tried any. Will research. Thanks!
Only Autolimb2015 is compatible with Genesis 3 and 8, so you probably want that one.
