Is There A "Do Not Create A Timeline For This Object" in DAZ Studio?

Example:

I have a scene (such as a house) which has many static objects. Then I have a few dynamic objects which are animated (e.g. Genesis figure, etc). As I am animating the animated objects, I find I need to tweak the location or orientation of the static objects. If I do this and forget to go to the first frame, DAZ Studio tries to be smart/helpful and it automatically adds a key frame for that object property at that frame. Typically I don't notice this immediately but later I get a big surprise as I animate the whole sequence and see a bunch of my static objects moving around.

In addition, my current scene has a completely enclose house and a camera that starts outside the house and then enters inside. This means that when I am on frame 0, it makes it very hard to position static objects inside the house because the camera view starts outside (and thus can not see inside the house). The top, bottom and side views are all useless, for this purpose, because the house walls prevent seeing inside. Currently I am getting around this problem by creating a couple of additional cameras which I use purely for seeing inside the house while on key frame 0.

Is there any option to mark certain objects as static so that property changes on any frame would just be applied to all frames? :coolsmirk:

Isn't there a Clear Animation option on the context menu under Parameters?

Isn’t there a Clear Animation option on the context menu under Parameters?

Yes I believe so but I am assuming that that would clear the animation (i.e. remove all key frames) which would probably cause the static object to have the original untweaked properties (i.e. the properties at frame 0) as opposed to the tweaked that were made at some higher frame.

e.g. At frame 1 Object 1 is at X=0,Y=0,Z=0. While on frame 100, a tweak the position to X=10,Y=20,Z=30. Since I forgot to go to frame 1, DAZ Studio makes frame 100 a key frame and changes the position of the object at that frame. When I play back the animation I now have a object that moves from 0,0,0 to 10,20,30 over the 100 frames. I am guessing that if I clean animation it will remove the key frame at 100 and thus my object will revert back to being at 0,0,0 for all key frames.

Thus, I was wondering if there is a way (e.g. setting) that would allow me to mark the object as static so that no matter which frame I modify it on, it would apply it to all frames (i.e. making it a static object).

memorize and restore at frame 0 maybe

Sorry, I think I am not explaining myself well. I know how to do it (and memorize and restore seem to work for that...some of the time) but my whole point is that lots of times when I am working and need to tweak the position of a static object I forget that I need to go back to frame 0 (thus I would also forget to do the memorize/restore).

This is why I am asking if an object can be set so that it does not have key frame (or all the key frames are the same). So that if I am on any frame and want to move the object I don't need to remember to go back to frame 0 first.
