I need help ASAP, I am making artwork for someone and I need to color parts of the solid object a glossy color... I have no way of knowing how to do that and have spent countless hours on google reading... I can't say it hasn't helped me but I still need to accomplish the task of coloring the object I have made...

PS: Diffuse color doesnt help in this situation because it colors the entire object this color.... I need at least 2 if not 3 colors on this object that I can manually paint onto the object....

FOR EXAMPLE:
-I want to color this wolfs nose and lips black.... But he doesnt have a specific surface geometry that I can select and Diffuse Color

It would be much simpler if the object was UV Mapped to begin with, and had separate surface zones. The best way would be to uv map the item, I would imagine that could be done in ZBrush.

The other way to do it, inside DAZ Studio, would be to use the Geometry Editor Tool (Alt+Shift+G) along with the Tool Settings pane (Window > Panes (Tabs) > Tool Settings)

You can then select individual polygons from the object, and assign them to surface areas which can then be coloured separately from the rest of the model.

I'm not sure what you mean by "a glossy colour". If you want to vary the shininess use a specular strength and/or glossiness map - paint the areas you want shiny white and the rest grey (or even black, depending on how big a difference you want - black will be matte, or will have maximally spread highlights, while white will be the value you set for the property). In the Surfaces pane assign your maps to Specular Colour or Glossiness as desired, and set the maximum value you want for the property.

that helped for the most part but it wont let me color the object unless i select another object from the same geometry which in turn colors the selected surfaces and the other surface i assigned it to..... for example,I i assigned the poly-selected surfaces and assigned the selected surfaces (nose and lips) to the toenails... I was able to get the nose and lips on the wolf black, but the toenails are also black.... anyway around this?

To do this, follow these steps.

Select your object in the Scene pane.
Select the geometry Editor Tool in the toolbar (or Alt+Shift+G)
Select Selection Type > Polygon Selection from the right click menu.
Choose a selection mode that suits you from Selection Mode.
Select your Polygons that you want in the new Surface

Right click, and select Geometry Assignment > Create Surface From Selected.
Name your surface in the pop up box to something that you will remember.
Right click again, Geometry Assignment > Assign to Surface, and select the surface you just named.

The new surface should now appear in the Surfaces Pane, and can be coloured to what you want, without affecting any other surface area.

See if you can get that to work?
