i saw this https://www.daz3d.com/shadowcrol as a potential freebie today (with code! see today's promos). and it seems that the product doesn't need any base product, i.e. it works by itself.

however, this in the description worries me a bit, i'm not sure i interprete it the right way: "Including updated geometry for both former packages with improved UV mapping, textures and now with morphs that weren't ever included in either."

i read it as if the "former packages" referred to might be f.ex cutey skulls, which i own, and is a pack of other accessories - and not some previous package of this here. so with this shadowcrol i get new, full functioning other accessories, and an update for cutey skulls. also an update for deadly cute, which i don't own (yet), and is in the potetial freebies for today too, but i can't get both, sadly...

i just don't wanna buy sth and then realize that oh crap, i first need some base product for it to work...

    The way I read it, it's basically a rerelease of older products that do not require those products to work, but maybe someone here owns this and can say for sure.

    hmm yeah, according to this https://www.deviantart.com/inception8/art/Shadowcrol-revisted-01-308631485 , you might be absolutely right. hence cutey skulls & rings are totally sth else, the designs are made to match but what is refered to is indeed the old version of this here previously sold sw else...

    ah well, gonna get it, after all it's not like i'm losing any money, lol. nothing else caught my attention in the potentially free originals anyway...

    I have that product. As far as I can recall, you don't need anything else to use them. They were made for poser tho and while they'll work in DS, you'll need to teak the mats and they'll install in your 'runtime', not in the DS section (and I THINK they'll end up in lost and found in smart content as they came over from RDNA and daz never created metadata for any of the RDNA products at all).

    Having said that, I don't have them installed and haven't used them in forever LOL as they are for V4 and quite old.

    Shadowcrol comes with its own geometry, so nothing else is needed, and is much more than rings and earrings. There is only one pair of earrings that is similar to one in the original Just Rings Cutey Skulls. I think they are referring to an early version of Shadowcrol, which didn't have the jewelry. The other product was maybe the Shades of Xion, which are in a different folder from the rest of the Shadowcrol items.

    thx everyone! i ended up getting it, there wasn't much other stuff i coulda done sth with anyways in today's originals - and it matches cutey skulls. guess i'm gonna use it like, not very often either, but hey, free... and it's way better in the pinup i created recently ^^

    EDIT. ah yeah, and it works perfectly! not that much to teak, too ^^
